R.I.P.Jay Traynor.One great plus of these shows was Traynor would sing his famous lead vocal as Jay in Jay & the Americans "She Cried.Wish he'd done This Is It his best single with The Americans..

Love the Big E! Eastern States Exposition, Springfield, MA. Held every September for 17 days. Moved to NV from CT 45 years ago, but still come back every year for acts like this!

Thank you for posting this video. As a kid growing up in San Jose Ca in the early 60's The Lion Sleeps Tonight was my favorite song and still is. When the San Francisco based radio station played this song this brought happiness to me.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight is not the same without the great female wordless high note vocal, that makes the whole song in my opinion.

Hi Steve! The woman you find missing is Anita Darien from the Metropolitan Opera House, a paid studio singer supplying the Soprano voice! There is a PBS video where Donna Groom steps in and replicates Anita's part to a tee!Enjoy! Richie Grasso former Token with Jay Siegel (1985-1997 On and off!)

Actually "Mitch Margo" Sang it Much Much Better than Jay Seigal. I saw first hand Mitch, his brother Phil and Sax player Jay Leslie up in Jackpot Nev. Much more Energy and Vocal talent... Just my opinion, Greg
