Also, you might have over tightened the objective cap a little bit. It should be easier to close than that.

3/32nds, thanks. I know a few sights/optics have used some Allen keys that are not in my standard kits. They are probably the same size. Surprised not to see more reviews on them. I like them, and did adjust them later.

I might have to get a set of the aadland/aadmount scope caps for another project. Thabks.

What do you like better about the aadland? If you don't mind?

@@andrewmagee1666 Awesome form factor, simple yet very efficient design while remaining lightweight and I really like the thumb or finger step / ledge that opens the objective lens cap. At first I was worried that because of how strong of an opening it would smack and scuff up the scope body but that's not an issue whatsoever since that's taken into consideration with the design.

Absolutely. I do have a few Vortex scopes. Tape off is important as is using Goof Off pro strength is good for taking paint off painted weapons. Non acetone nail polish is ok, and rubbing alcohol is not that great.

I would say Butler Creek is more affordable and has more overall options. But these are more premium and durable than Tenebraex caps which cost more. Butler Creek is what I used for years over other covers/caps.

Definitely not something I would put on just any gun. Butler Creek has been my go to scope caps for years. I bought a Remington 700 5R years ago to make a poor man’s M24 sniper rifle. Years later being not so poor, decided to complete this build and use different more modern items. I was going to try Tenebraex caps, but there were more expensive and seemed less durable. Main reason I bought them was they came in a color other than black.

@@CAVCOP makes since, I have looked at the Leopold flip ups also, but for the money and not being able to align them on the scope ( as they screw in, like a sun shade) I didn't get them. These seem more though out, like you pointed out, a reassessed nut for the tension screw and folding back almost flat. One thing I have done in the past is when I put a cap one with a forward adjustable objective is I make a line where the end of the cap will be after it is installed, then lines on the on the cap housing where they are on the bell of the scope, that way I know where and at what range to turn it to while all of that is covered. I realize that your scope has a side objective dial, just thought you may want to pass on this tip.
