Your Scope Caps Don't Have This | New From Zeiss

The market is full of cheap, poorly made flip up scope caps. Finally some one (Zeiss) has made a quality scope cap that won't break after only a couple of uses.
They may just be scope covers but Zeiss has put some pretty cool features in their covers.

Nothing beats the Leupold Alumina-Flip scope covers. They screw into the scope housing on both ends, weather tight, magnetically held closed and the list goes on. These are nothing special in my opinion - the tenebraex covers have the same full open feature and probably made of the same material. Not that these aren't good but really nothing special or different.

Thanks for your comment. We would have to disagree, we've tried the Alumina flip and in our opinion are not of the same quality as what Zeiss is putting out. Starting with them being aluminum, which dents and scratches, plus issues with the magnets staying in place. The Zeiss covers are much more durable and made of better materials.

@@OutdoorSolutions I’ve never had an issue with the magnets staying in place but you are correct that the aluminum can dent and scratch, but that has nothing to do with them functioning as designed - to protect the glass. After all, the entire structure of the scope is made of aluminum so the material is not a bad choice. My point is although the zeiss covers are good and function well to protect the glass, there is nothing special about them. If you are convinced the rubber/plastic is a better material to use than aluminum, I would argue the tenebraex covers are substantially better than these for the simple fact that they screw into the lens housing on both ends. I’ve had far too many scope covers come off, set screws come loose, housings break, and the expansion/contraction is different on the scope than these rubber/plastic covers which points me right back to the alumina flip covers. You can’t engineer out physics. Scope covers like this that slip on over the ocular and objective housings will eventually become loose with time or the temperature change. They will eventually crack at some point due to direct pressure especially on the ocular end where the set screw is, and the screw in design of the tenebraex and alumina flip covers are substantially better for that simple fact. I’m glad you are excited about them and the battery and Allen key holder is a neat little feature but not a game changer by any means.
