In all fairness, these animations have him countering very strong impacts from the likes of Sento, Kriss, Tarkatan blades, and Omni-Man’s… and Omni-Man. All with his bare hands. Quan-Chi clearly excels in magical abilities, but he also isn’t slouching in the gym.

Really goes to show how much they suck up to Quan-Chi by making him more of a Cockroach than Shang-Tsung. Dude literally was created and then given basically everything that Shang-Tsung can already do except shapeshift and instead do necromancy but still sucks anyway. Hate him so much because he devalues Shang-Tsung and even Shao-Khan in a sense (not that there is anyway you can devalue Shao anymore than he has been since the Writers of MK9 and MK11 already did that for us.) the whole revenant idea was also pretty stupid too, it’s a shame that we are stuck with him because Shinnok needed a lackey that would follow him because Shang-Tsung obviously wouldn’t either because he is too powerful or dead. And before anyone says anything, Quan-Chi originally only had a one off appearance in the Mortal Kombat cartoon series before MK4 happened, dude was made for one episode and the creators just wouldn’t let him go so now we are stuck with him.
