They certainly do, you cant beat them!!! I Have a 1980 V 1300 Ghia and it sounds just the same, its just a cracking sound that never fails to make you smile.

A nice video of a classic Mk 1 Ford Fiesta starting well from cold. It obviously has a manual choke I assume? Perhaps not a good idea to over rev a cold engine like you did here as I'm sure you don't want to be putting your hand into your pocket to pay for a replacement engine?! Do you still have the car & is it roadworthy at all please?
