Yeah... one of his intros with Nitara indicates that his ex-wife's lawyer already sucked him dry. But these intros take place after the events of the story, and Johnny Cage has been making bank releasing a cinematic universe based on his adventure in Outworld. He also mentions the Tarkatan cosplayers at CageCon to Baraka, so clearly he's finding success beyond even the height of his acting career.
