Have to do timing and clutch on my 12v vr6. Seriously thinking pulling the whole engine and trans may be easier than trans alone

@@NameName-eq7oe As someone who did this once on the ground in a parking lot I would disagree, pulling the trans was not as time consuming, pulling the entire thing would be more time consuming but would be better ergonomically.

@@thirdgeargrind8033 Thanks I think I'm going to just do the trans alone as doing timing is already going to be a huge job for me. I've heard it's easier to drop the subframe too but that also seems like more work.

So you took the engine harness out with the engine correct?

Yes fastest to do it, disconnecting all the little sensors is super tedious when you can just disconnect 2 or 3 plugs for the entire harness.

hey man did u remove the cv shaft first then the 3 13 mil bolt? or the other way around, thanks

3x 13 first, to allow the spindle to be pulled forward to allow the room required to remove the axle.

@@steambuns2283 No it should just unbolt from the top plate, and then the spindle should slide out of the control arm. You may need to hammer the end of the axle to get it free from the hub, if you do that make sure you have the axle nut on loose covering the threads to protect them from being damaged.
