MW White You can't really damage the transmission but you can pull the cv joint apart but they can be pushed back together as long as the boot remains intact. I've had the outter joint pop but it goes right back in. It's like popping your shoulder out of its socket, you just gotta pop it back in lol. Just don't let the weight of the knuckle and brakes hang on the axle for too long. Support it with a jack while you work.

How can u tell the outer joint pops?

It will be hard to move and you wont be able to put everything back together.

I put everything back together now i hear a snap sound when i turn the wheel

What type of suspension did you install?

That's about it. Some remove the ball joint bolts but i don't find it necessary. Now I was removing shorter springs which did make it easier. If your stock you may have to pull the ball joint and axle on the passenger side.
