Still have my TF201 hanging around in the cabinet (and yeah, software held it back big time). I'm surprised so few tablets have used that type of keyboard, mostly Windows ones like the Surface Book. Everything else seems to use this awkward folio stand style that requires a table.

Split screen shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you go into the developer settings (after you enabled it), there's a setting(s) to force any app into split screen. If the app is made half decent it will work quite well. I've been using it for years to watch KZfaq and play games. That's also not even on a tablet (Xiaomi Remi Note 10Pro). Definitely give it a try!

@@user-ii8oy3qg2t to be fair developer mode is not hard to enable at all and something that MOST people know exist. A lot of companies misinterpret the iPad’s success by trying to make better hardware at a cheaper price, but the iPad it’s not a hardware product, it’s a software one. No matter how good your hardware is… if you don’t have the software to back it up, everything else is meaningless. That is why people don’t want anything but an iPad (when it comes to tablets).

For the majority of tablet buyers/enthusiasts, yes, we can consider it an iPad killer. However, personally, I've never viewed the iPad as a mass product, even though it is. Its use seems to be specific and specialized. I recently sold my iPad because I couldn't find a real purpose for it during my day-to-day simple tasks, the girl who bought it has some kind of marketing job and she was astonished by how useful the iPad could be for her 😅 Best regards from Brazil!

honestly a product like this is meant for people (like myself) who aren't in the least bit interested in the Apple eco system and just want a tablet that's decent with a user experience they're more familiar with. I think its a tall ask for a product like this to convince people to move away from a device that specifically has features they want while offering none of those features for itself. I'd be interested to see the uptake on products like this outside of the US. Where I live in the UK I know literally nobody with Apple devices save for MAYBE a few with ipads... and those people while they like the tablet, don't love the user experience. I personally tabletwise am still rockin a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite that I picked up during the pandemic and for me, it still ticks all the boxes I need it to just fine.

One of the niche benefits I would get from an android tablet, is that I do game development as a hobby. I've made a few android games in the past, and testing on something like this would be really fun. I mostly make a bunch of prototypes that I like to show my friends and family. I rarely develop something I push to an App store. Something like this with a larger screen would be great for showing these hobby projects off. I have an ipad, but I haven't tried developing much for iOS due to a few of the barriers and licenses involved with that process. I know it's plenty achievable to develop for the ipad if I were to give it a shot, I just find sideloading apps on android to be easier, which lends itself better to my lazy hobbyist approach.

I've been using my Samsung galaxy tab s7 for work since 2020 and became my main device since my laptop broke in 2021. And I must say that even though Android tablets would probably never be as fast and smooth as iPads anytime soon, but what it lacks in those areas, Samsung's currnet tablets are surely functional. They've been consistently updating it and I'm getting even more functionalities and capabilities years after I first got my tablet. I've tried using iPad before and yes, it's probably still the best tablet out there. But as an Android user, I appreciate the way Samsung has integrated a lot of their own UI into the Android tablet. And as a person who actually got stuck using a tablet as my main working device, I know how much capabilities and potential Android tablets have and can have. My point is, not becauae iPad is "the best" tablet doesn't mean that Android tablets are not worth the buy. Because if you're an Android user and is more used to and prefer Android OS, now is actually a good time to purchase an Android tablet instead of an iPad. And really the only way to know that Android tablets are good or not is to actually just use it. Not just in a week or a month to review the item, but actively and actually using it to work.

@@matheus_brunelli s8 ultra is a beast but an impractical one I’d rather get the S8+ And in my opinion apart from games, iPads real advantage is only thru apps like the ones in the top 200 or top 250 list on apple’s app store. And ones those apps get ported to android properly and without any major bugs, the question of questionable app support in android tablets will be gone Like for example developers using flutter will probably be able to use the cross platform advantage to improve the android user experience Like notability, goodnotes, pro create, luma fusion, stock trading apps, maybe some music production apps, etc As an ipad pro user (11inch base model with m1) i get why people stick to ipads, its kinda along similar lines as windows/macOS vs linux, android is great but the fragmentation hurts it in ways that are complicated to counter. It’s a shame that even after 10-11 yrs android tablet is still significantly behind iPadOS in terms of overall feature set. IMO the screen ratio is a huge part of what has always set iPads apart. Widescreen makes sense for a desktop monitor, it makes sense for a laptop even. It makes no sense on a handheld device. Steve jobs had it right way back with the first iPad, “feels like reading a magazine” was and still should be the goal for a handheld large screen media consumption device like this Even modern iPads have strayed from this and are worse off for it IMO. Great review, thanks again! I believe that many higher-end Android tablets can give iPads a run for their money. For instance, I recently switched to the Xiaomi 6 Tablet, which has some impressive specs: 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, a stunning 2880x1800 display with 309ppi, Dolby Vision, 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos, a blue light filter, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, an 8400mAh battery, and a fast 33W charger. Plus, you can get a pen and keyboard for it. I sold my iPad Mini 6 because its battery life had dropped significantly after 2 years, but I still have my iPad Air.( Xiaomi pad Usd 310 , Sold iPad mini for 345 Usd ) When I compare it to the Xiaomi 6, which offers a fantastic display and spatial sound for Netflix, it's clear that Xiaomi's product is a great choice. Dolby Vision is another standout feature. Compared to the iPad Mini 6, it's a no-brainer. It seems like Apple's ecosystem is starting to show signs of decline, with fewer new innovations. I noticed they mentioned you on September 12th without your knowledge or consent - it's quite absurd, given Apple's reputation.

I prefer the iPad but i wanted the bigger screen and it came with the s pen already, not too mention the keyboard case came free when i bought it. I don't like the wide keyboard on the iPad and enjoy the floating keyboard on a tablet

I recently got a used iPad Air 3 for £150. The design is a bit dated now but for the money it makes a fantastic budget tablet today. Still runs the latest iPadOS and all of its features.

What happens when you plug it into an external display? The iPad Air will give you a separate workspace and take up the full screen for instance.

Personally I believe TABLETS should have high end cameras ! Why? Because TABS have way more larger display, if you can get high end quality photos, you'll be able to do rest of the things such as editing sharing and even just viewing (just like Google Nest Hub) Things will be pretty cool!

I use S22 Ultra and iPad Air, best of both worlds. Apps seem so much better on the iPad and the pencil 2 was just better when I bought the Air compared to the competition. I want to switch to Android on my tablet but the A14 SoC just keeps up so good and I get updates regularly.

Didnt know that one yet. As of today, we have a lot of the cheaper (~150€) Samsung A series around here in Germany. Thanks for the objective video!

Yes and no. They are still kinda clunky and app support isn’t as great. Media consumption is great, I just wouldn’t recommend as work/productivity device. Speaking as a Tab S7 + owner.

Interesting Android tablet! Side note - The notes icon on the OnePlus Pad looks eerily similar to the icon of Pages (Apple’s word processing app). Coincidence? I think not 🤔

I wanted to switch from an iPad to a Galaxy Tab but I couldn't get the biggest screen Tab and still have 5G. Pretty much stuck with iPad at this point but the newest Pro model is very nice.

I only ever had a work iPad at an old workplace. Hated the thing. Wanted a tablet for at home use for so long though. I love my OnePlus Nord phone. Definitely want this tablet now.

Good update! Definitely one to look out for since I want to upgrade and I do NOT want another iPad. They don't play nice with others and I feel like I just paid way too much for the silver sheen and not for what's under the hood.

I think you said the keyword towards the end of this video... This tablet is now something to "consider" when looking into buy a tablet or iPad. And I think that is a statement that we can look forward to more in the future I hope. We need the competition.

I had to unsubscribe to him because at one point it was clear he was either being paid to promote Apple or trying to keep a good connection with them. I have resubscribed to him after this video, he is finally being fair.

It surely is a difficult task to come up with an iPad killer from any company. I feel Google has the reach for it but they havent even ended the iPhone with the Pixel so Im assuming its definitely gonna take a while till they get there but Im hoping they do. I love the Pixel devices!

Request>> Do a video on if Computers are relevent vs ipad, Samsung Pad's, Smart Phones. Its been a topic Ive thought a lot on lately. Often times when I open up my laptop it feels unneccessary like can do this way faster on my smart phone and typing is easier. I feel like this would be a topic that would draw in a lot of interest from viewers
