MLB actually releases condensed games 90 minutes after every game, shows the last pitch of every hit, strike out, walk, every stolen base and error. If it's a 1,2,3 they just show the last out of the half inning... I love watching those

Funny seeing Brad Ausmus getting so animated. Normally, Brad will come out with the major league rule book, and two folding chairs, and offer to have a quiet conversation with the umpire. It was a refreshing to see him get heated up like that

I think when Herrera got ejected, that was the only time in MLB history that a pitcher got ejected at the same time he caught his own pitched ball off the backstop. That was classic.

Throwing Ortiz out of the game for that bat flip seems ridiculous. I don't know if he got a warning or anything previously in that game but immediately throwing him out for that seems weird.

When an umpire suspects that a pitcher has thrown at a batter intentionally, but is not certain, a warning is issued to the pitcher and the managers of both teams. ... If the umpire is certain that the pitcher intentionally hit the batter with the pitch, the pitcher is ejected from the game with no warning. Official Baseball Rule 8.01(d) [former OBR 9.01(d)] grants umpires the discretion to eject any participant “for objecting to decisions or for unsportsmanlike conduct or language.” In addition, there are situations listed in the Official Baseball Rules and the Rule Interpretations portion of this manual that result in immediate ejection. These situations include violations such as arguing a “step balk,” pitcher in possession of a foreign substance, batter charging the pitcher with the intention of fighting the pitcher, pitcher intentionally throwing at a batter after a warning, etc.

This particular outburst occurred a few years ago when Lou was being chided by the fans and the local media in Chicago for not really showing any emotion or standing up enough for his team. So that's why this overreaction to the call, which by the way, was the right call by the ump.

MLB needs to review some of their rules. If a player can not touch an umpire by touch or even a bump then an umpire should not be able to lay hands on a player. I see umps too many times doing this and they are not held accountable for it
