This video has some of the most animated MLB manager ejections in recent memory. Note I said managers not player ejections. Featuring Lloyd McClendon, Charlie Manuel, Joe Girardi, Lou Pinella, and more.

I've said it a while and I continue to keep saying. The exchange between Terry Colins and Tom Hallion; that video needs to be required viewing to any wannabe MLB umpire on how to handle an escalated situation like this. Hallion handled it cool when Colins was on his profanity-laced tirade. Would any of you handle it any better than Hallion? I know I wouldn't.

The argument between the terry guy and tommy is for some reason wholesome to me… Clearly both are very good friends on a personal level and watching tommy run over to throw the other two sharks away from terry who was clearly on a rampage was admirable! tommy knew exactly how to handle terry and didn’t want to see him get ejected or tuned up. Lastly, terry turning around and sayin “YOUR BETTER THAN THAT TOMMY” was when i knew they both respect each other.

2:40 This Ump deserves alot of credit for keeping his cool
@alltheDCteams5 жыл бұрын
He "kept his cool" because he knew it was the wrong call to throw Syndergaard out. Who ever heard of an ump throwing a (top) pitcher out in the first inning for a pitch that went behind a batter (but didn't even hit him) without a warning first?? I believe that ump didn't agree with the call, but understandably he has to back up the HP ump's decision.

That’s why he’s the crew chief. That’s the difference between the crew chief and the rest of the umps on the field.

@@alltheDCteams Nah man. The umpires get a briefing from MLB before games like this. They were almost certainly told to have zero tolerance for this by the league before the game. This was the first game they had after Chase Utley broke their SS leg in the playoffs the previous year. They threw at him the first chance they got and the league probably told the umpire it would happen and to respond with an ejection.
