They should jot it down on those little note papers they keep in their back pockets, which MLB should not allow.

I guess that's why i see some players putting up 1 or 2 fingers to other players after an out. Imagine making that kind of error in a World Series that costs you a game.

ahhhh...its easier to lose track than you might think. Remember that these guys play 162 games a year, which is 4,131 outs (average 8.5 innings in the field) per year. Sometimes it just happens where a lot may be going on in a play getting your mind on something else in that split second moment, or things are so boring and quiet your brain gets lulled to sleep. Of course it shouldn't happen but you know shit happens sometimes.

Since it's all about entertainment, the lack of teamwork did more toward that end.

Ok one of you is going to know this...help me out. Say there is a runner on first base and one out. Batter flies out for the second out. Fielder doesn't know how to count to three and throws the ball to a lass that has been flirting with him all game. She hangs on to it and refuses to give it back. How far can the runner advance? Second base? Or all the way home?

@@jamaalfridge More baseless Joe Buck slams. Once again, I've never seen anyone who slams Buck give any actual REASON why he's bad. Because they've got nothing. Buck is the best in the business. Not that Vasgersian is BAD, but his voice gets FAR more irritating at exciting moments. It gets WAY too high-pitched and shrill, and his predilection for saying "SANTA MARIA" sounds simply ridiculous and embarrassing. I cringe whenever I hear that. One of the greatest moments in baseball history occurred when David Bote hit his ultimate slam, but I never watch replays of it because Vasgersian spoiled it with a huge pus-filled zit of "SANTA MARIA!!!!" during it. When Vasgersian speaks normally, though, he's very good, just like virtually every other baseball announcer. Buck, however, is the best in the business. He strikes the right balance of normal voice and exciting voice so that he can somehow make even the normal and routine sound exciting, while the exciting sound even MORE exciting. Remember Alex Gordon's base hit in the 9th inning of Game 7 of the 2014 World Series? Buck called that to PERFECTION. Oh, my goodness.

You should always know how many outs are on offense too lol there's a couple in this video and I watched Javy Baez do it this year from 1st base on a fly ball for thw 2nd out. He started going on contact and then got passed 2nd and they threw the ball back to 1st and got him out

I think they were talking about the runner trying to run to 3rd, him and the base coach not noticing that the catcher was there. Neglect on the batting team, not the defense.

Went with a friend to a Cubs game where Cone started for the visitors (Mets?). After doing the usual buy the cheapest upper deck tickets and then sit wherever we wanted, we ended up about 15 rows behind the 1st base dugout. The Mets were up 5-2 when my friend and I decided to start razzing Cone during his windups. We would yell "Hey Cone, you're a bum!" in unison, and he he threw 3 straight balls to walk the guy he was facing. Then he was like 2-1 on the next guy with us doing the same thing, and then I said to my friend, OK maybe hes getting used to it, so now let's skip a pitch and see if it messes with him. Sure enough, another ball, 3-1. I don't remember what happened with that batter but it must not have been a good inning for David, cuz my friend and I were comprehensively entertained by the ongoing results. After a couple innings of us hassling Cone on about 70% of his pitches, it must have started bothering him more and more cuz eventually he started looking toward us between pitches and pounding his fist in his glove. So of course we kept at it until he lost the lead and got pulled, the Cubs went on to win, and the Mets burned thru a big chunk of their bullpen, which they had been hoping to avoid doing with David getting the start. And that was the first of three ballgames we saw that day. After the nooner at Wrigley, we cruised on down to Comiskey to take in an afternoon White Sox game, and then after that headed a few miles over to northwest Indiana to watch the Kane County Cougars play a night road game. The crowd down there didn't like us too much, with us dressed like preppies, smoking giant cigars and cheering the visiting team in a stadium full of down-home farmers. Then a lady ten rows behind us decided to take offense to the cigar smoke and try to shut us down by challenging our seating assignments. She karened at us from ten rows back and asked if we were going to go away or was she going to call the usher. We said call the usher, so she did. Of course we had done the usual thing of sitting wherever we wanted, but we didn't care - getting kicked out would have been just as entertaining to us as watching the game was. Best part was, the usher merely sent us to our actual assigned seats, which were nine rows behind us - directly in front of the lady who had just called the usher on us. So we kept smoking the ridiculous cigars (we had actually bought the biggest clown-sized ones they had, but they were cheap and tasted awful) and blowing the smoke over our shoulders. Not one of my prouder moments, but at the time it was thoroughly enjoyable, especially cuz our teams won all three games.

Basically you're complaining that baseball players dont make more stupid mistakes and take crazy risks XD yeah of course they're professionals, usually they dont make mistakes. This is why a lot of people like to watch college sports because there are more mistakes and risky plays which can be viewed as more exciting.

I'm simply saying that the game moves way too slow, with interminably long periods of nothing more than pitcher to catcher with an occasional swing. IMHO moving the pitcher's mound farther back would give the batter's more time to see the ball and thus you would result in more hits, and more action. Seriously - in what other sport can you have a 30% success rate and be considered amazingly successful. And yet in baseball, that hitting average is considered phenomenal

The sport where they barely ever score and players take hundreds of shots before scoring a goal? Moving the mound back would mean that the pitcher would be too close to 2nd base, and the only alternative would be to make the bases longer which would make the game even more boring for you. The only thing that could make baseball more exciting is change either the bats or the balls or some other thing about the equipment because changing the infield size isn't feasible.

@@trollnerd that's a sticky wicket to compare goals in soccer to hits in baseball. While it's true that soccer is a low scoring sport, that's not the only action in the game. There's constant action, movement, changes in game momentum and strategy going on in between those goals. There's probably more action in five minutes of a soccer match than an entire three hour baseball game
