Pedro is a savant. Brains of Maddux but more dynamic-best pitcher I’ve ever seen and I grew up watching Maddux regularly...I’ve always believed disproportionately long fingers give such an advantage to pitchers. Look at Pedro’s middle finger on the grip. It’s no wonder he couldn’t throw a 4 seam straight because it held the seam so long that there’s always a slight tilt. Amazing how he could manipulate the ball once he established himself. He would destroy baseball today with everyone’s aggressive upswings

That's a great point he made about pitchers when they're effectively wild. Hitters are scared, but speaking generally, a pitcher like that isn't going to have a long day.

Can only get lucky so many times and even the pitching disadvantage Pedro on himself was more on the coach it is easily fixed by throwing fake away pitches that the catcher sets up for away but both pitcher and catcher know is coming in, then your really playing baseball.
