First off, I do believe that twilight can be Celestias daughter on a number of factors. 1. She becomes an alicorn when other past students have not became them. It's also due to how she and Celestia are both very smart and discovered new pieces of magic. 2. The voice she gives when addressing twilight is very motherly sounding and not the typical teacher voice. 3. She seems to pull the mom/dad role to push her limits and give her many tests to accomplish. Celestia is more than a teacher, she has a motherly side to her. 4. It works because the secrets she kept was later revealed in time. Once she became an alicorn, she developed her body and a similar face to Celestia. How Twilight treats her students was not motherly, but a friendly way. And she probably never knew that secret and it may corrupt Twilight if she knew this. It would be a lot to take in if she knew and it was never revealed because Celestia feared she would hate her about hiding her daughter with random ponies.

I remember reading a Fanfic a while back, called "Sunset" by Ciroton. In it, Twilight finds out that she was created as a homunculus by Celestia, in an attempt to create a body to house Luna's soul. Twilight gains a soul of her own, and is given to Nightlight and Twilight Velvet to raise. Years later, Twilight learns the truth.

the whole "my real mom from my dream was perfect" scene reminded me of a different comic,where spike dreams that twilight is his mother,and when twilight wakes him up,he tells about his dream,and twilight says:"you dreamed about your mom? what was she like?" and spike,responds the same way twilight did in this comic:"she was perfect."

I don't think Twilight is Celestia's daughter. Although, they did had a connection because their cutie marks are on the Tree of Harmony. Now no one know anything about the tree, but we do know that they were probably chosen for a reason. No wonder their bond together is so very strong.

I think that it is a possibility that Twilight could be Celestia's daughter. however the chances of us seeing it in the show are a bit unlikely. The staff could do this like Dr.Wolf said yet there would have to be a two or three part special to go over the story. Heck there are a few moments in the show that could be seen as hints towards the daughter of Celestia theory yet they might be a little more subtle or are just minor details that couldn't support this theory as a whole. Then again I'd need all of the moments that this could be seen in the show compiled together before we made a decision if this is a possible story arc in the show. Strangely this is a very good head canon and is not as stupid as it sounds... Celestia does act in a motherly way to twilight and you hardly see Twilight's parents at all... It would be super cute and nice if it was canon...

I think it's possible that Twilight is Celestia's Daughter I mean they both have the same element with help they are caring, loving, powerful, and a great teacher they both defeated powerful enemies and are great leaders plus ever in the first episode of my little pony Celestia have been preparing her for countless fights so she can become stronger with help from twilights friends so she can learn how to be a great princess and love all her people I mean twilight has her own castle now

While I don't think the writers are daring enough to make this move in the show, it DOES present itself to some good fanfiction ideas. In fact, I'm going to look up some right now.

To be honest, I don't really care for these types of story ideas. As a mama's boy, I wouldn't care if my own parents weren't actually my real parents and I was like the son of some rich, classy family. This is because the people who raised me are, no matter the scenario, are my real parents. That said, if something like this would be incorporated into a fanfic or even the show, I honestly wouldn't like it if Twilight went ahead and recognized Celestia as her real mother, even if her "parents" allowed it. It just wouldn't settle right with me. To me, for a story like this to work, you'd have to go Kung Fu Panda 2 on it.

I would like to see this find out what motives she had for her actions and all...and I think that it would add more future story lines with Celestia learning how to be a proper mum and Twilight going on a quest for self wholeness. Even getting use to it and her friends could learn that no matter what back story a pony has it only matters how they are now. wow I am rambling now but that is my opinion and I hope they go with this idea though I doubt it. :)

Well I know one thing. Twilight for sure wanted something more between her and Celestia. She definitely loves her a lot and she sees her as a mother figure. It can be seen in every interaction she has with her. In best night ever she only wanted to spend time with her for example. Now I honestly doubt this would happen but If it will I would be one of the happiest persons ever:)

Drwolf001 here's my thoughts Caelestista is twilight's real mom because she kind of treats her like her daughter and yet twilight did become a princess. The resins celestia put her in all the trouble twilight went trough is because she was probably trying to prepare her for what might happen in the future , as a daughter my mom does put me through difficult task, kinda like celestia did with twilight, that is my thoght

This comic was great, Doc. I'm with Rarityfangirl on this. I can't see Celestia as a mother to Twilight either. As she said, it would definitely work in a alternate universe, but not in canon. This would make a very interesting fanfiction and also very interesting headcanons.

That kind of thing happened in the story 'Overcoming the Night' by Space Cowboy. It is a twiluna romance and at the end has an alternate reason for Twilight ascending to Alicorn. But it does show one way Twi could take that bombshell.

I just loved that reading you made good doctor with this comic dub as you make an excellent storyteller in the form of Twilight's father. The other two voices were just as magical in my opinion, and props to the creator of the comic for having such a sweet filly Twilight voice. It sounded so realistic as though you got someone that young to voice the character. The music from Super Mario Galaxy was a very good choice as it fits the overall mood of the story, and makes it even more magical.

All I can think of is the opening for "Prince of Egypt". Someone needs to make a PMV or something. I think it is at least plausible. Or at least it was until the season 3 finale and book with Cadence's backstory came along. It could have been argued that Celestia put a spell on Twili to hide the earth pony and Pegasus side of her until her ascension where she released the spell.

Twilight being Celestias daughter was, in away, reviewed in the season 3 finale to be true during 2 separate moments: 1. Celestia's Ballard: "You've come such a long long way. And I've watched you from that *very first day.* " is what is song by Celestia. 2. After Fluttershy says "You look just like a princess." She (Celestia) tells everycreature she IS a priness, AND NOT she was always detained to be one.

You wanna know how that would play out? Explosions, the roots of the story so far being ripped up and torn apart, Cadance would be the only artificial allicorn again, and a quest for twilight's father would take place. It would be the wrench thrown into the story that could not be taken back.

Going into genetics, the only trait that they share is the eyes, and even then we don't have a father to speak of so, that moops that theory.

and to answer your question i think to a degree it could work in many ways like in the story she maid such hard dissensions such as banishing her sister taking on so many students who have in turn even backfired on her and why i hate some who think she is able to see into the future and all but an interesting theory to explore

While I don't believe in the headcanon that Celestia is in fact Twilight's mother, I feel the need to argue against the point that a mother would never put their child in danger, Celestia would be balancing her role as princess (taking care of what's in the people's best interests) and as a mother (not wanting to place the child into harm's way) but she has to because Twilight is the only one who can stop the dangers she is sent to defeat, two conflicting duties that could cause significant strain and offer some character development.

When I think of something like this as a head cannon; Sunset Shimmer:Celestia, Twilight Sparkle:Luna. Due to both have more in common with that sort of pairing. Sunset is the descendent of Celestia from an earlier event, Just as Twi is the Grandchild (Add Grands as necessary) of Luna.

I think it is like a fanfiction i read where scootaloo was tia's daughter and was foal-napped, so to forget she used a potion, a memory potion to forget. Mabey she could've done this and enchanted it to make her only remember of twi being her daughter when she created majicz and knows now but may only reveal it to twi in the series finale. this could indeed be possible there are many ways one could use to make this a possibility. I mean if they can use the power of love against creatures that feed on love and expect us to all go "seems legit" there really isn't much that's too far fetched by comparison.

You guys looked at this comic from a very different angle than I would. What really jumps out the most at me is the ending. It was just a dream, and the weight comes from Twilight's reaction to it. It presents Twilight as viewing Celestia as 'perfect', but leaves it ambiguous as to how that perception makes her feel, as well as how she feels about herself with regard to her mentor. How does she feel about living up to such a character? Is she proud? Hopeful that she could become more like Celestia? Or is she intimidated, seeing Celestia as something she could aspire toward but never fully reach? I feel like the key takeaway lies more in the idea of her being Celestia's heir than in her being her physical daughter.

If that did become canon doctor, It would make a great episode for both Twilight and Celestia as characters... it would also sort of break that "Perfect god" vibe that Celestia carries... on a side note, it's also a common trait with demi-gods in Greek mythology. many of them were raised by one birth parent and maybe a step father/mother in there, but carry the resemblance of their Deity parent... MLP already has used a lot of Greek Mythology in it's episodes (mainly creatures). So I wouldn't see it as something impossible. But a rare possibility if the writers wanted to keep the Greek Mythology references rolling.

It hold as much weight as Luna being Twilight's actual mother, not impossible, but highly implausible. I kind of like the idea, because it's very much the noble/divine heritage of the hero thing, but I also don't, because it undermines what Twilight earned. I personally like the idea of Twilight earning the title, as in most casing the title is given at birth or inherited and the person either lost it and has to require it or has to demonstrate that they are worthy of it. Not saying these are bad ideas, but having Twilight earn her princess-hood is a nice and welcomed deviation to the mix.

That's such an intrasting idea. I never thought of Celestia as Twilight's mother before. Neat idea though! I think it may be very shocking to everyone & may have a major 2 part happen in the show I think it would be great! But I too don't believe this is all real, but if so, I would really be shocked & full of questions, not in anger or nothing.

I think it's easy for twilight to seem like a daughter to celestia. Although celestia has been able to keep a constant composure, I think that celestia honestly is very motherly in nature. She is very protective of everyone in her kingdom, especially twilight. I believe the dynamic is actually more like the one we see between twilight and spike.

I think twilight is Celestia daughter. if you notice her parents have nothing compared to her.different hair color,different eye color,twilight and Celestia have many things in common.same eyes,both love magic,loyal,some what honest,etc

I think Luna as a mother, though much harder to pull off would give a very interesting deviation. But then this is me taking a half baked fanfic idea I have and throwing out one particular trait.

I actually think this is perfectly possible, taking into account that alicorns can't seem to be created, they're all "gods" or whatever they go as. So, truly, this is a logical reason for the "change", which in this case could now be ruled as a coming-of-age story. After all, Cadence grew from little to big as an alicorn, and no stories of creature are ever made. And since it started with Luna and Celestia being sisters... yes, I can see this being the truth. I'm not a big fan of mlp, but I'm also a logic person who likes to have a thorough story that is logical, which this could be.

I have to admit that though it is interesting. It would take a bit of evidence from the show to support. If it were true in the show though I would like to see Twighlight's character growth more than Celestias. Though it would give Celestia more character than she has been given in long time. I'm sure that the people in the fandom that like Celestia would enjoy this concept though. This might also make her seem less Godlike and more down to earth. Which would make her more relatable like Luna and we know how much people like Luna (myself included). This also might raise some questions: who is Twighlight's dad? When would you know Twighlight would be ready? If you needed an heir does that mean your going to "pass away?"

I find this very interesting on many levels I don't think it would change the show very much in the long run but it would make a hugely impossibly creative story arc for the show that could span at least 2 episodes and at most a full 2 hour movie going into the history of the princesses twilight's birth and the magic to disguise her as a unicorn and the steps taken to get her into the magic school ect. The idea itself is not a new one many shows before have been the secret heir trope but this one would be a very out of left field surprise and if done right it would probably boost ratings popularity and sales to the highest levels since the original shows first airing in the 1980s. (as in growth not numbers) Honestly I'd love for them to play with this at Hasbro it would be fun

A few days ago I found a story called "In the Sun's Shadow" by Polaris501 on fimfiction. It actually does run with this concept, even explaining how the ruling structure of the tribes operate, and in the pieces of chapters leading to the reveal Twilight is adopted, a bit further, it displays little hints and teases to this fact with Celestia's actions. There is a chapter where Luna actually pieces it together and the chapter following confronts sorrowful Celestia about it all. Celestia does state that nothing she says can justify withholding the information from Twilight for as long as she had, and also states it was her fears and desire for Twilight's continued happiness that kept holding her back from telling Twilight. In my opinion it is well execute, and still has yet to complete. I like the idea of Twi and Tia being related, mostly because the have numerous similarities in their mannerisms when we do see Celestia for more than 2 minutes (or the fact that the fandom gives Celestia similar personality traits to Twilight is just feeding into my assessment)

At the part: "to be crowned when the time is right", that reminded me that Twilight did have a crowning at the end of "Magical Mystery Cure".

I think that if Celestia is Twilight's real mother, then if Twilight starts questioning her past, and life ahead of her, maybe it will bring her and Spike even closer together. Maybe this would lead to a Twilight centered episode with similarities to "Dragon Quest" or leading Twilight to dig through her (New) books and scrolls in the genealogy section?

Here's another factor, what if Twilie's parents are infact only controlled by Celestia. Twilight is shocked because her parents have (in her mind) been taken away by Celestia but also she feels closer to Tia because she has really known her a lot longer. When her parents show emotion but Tia needs to remain a strong image for her subject, is this her emotional let out... dose she continue bring three people after Twi finds out? Oh the possibilities, at 11:50 at night, yeah!
