I can't believe they explained and tied together the continuity of the ENTIRE show. Phenomenal! I'm also excited for the possibility of seeing these characters return for future episodes. I'd love to see Flash Magnus react to the fact that ponies are now allies with the dragons XD

Near the end ,Mane 6 and Legend 6 were pulling out the pony inside of the Shadow that look like a scene from Spiderman was pulling out Eddie from symbiote (Venom).

Well, Starswirl is exact how I pictured him. Powerful, but a bit stubborn do to his power. So Intelligent he needs the point rubbed in his face before he accepts he might have been wrong. I loved how he's portrayed.

Something i noticed about the Pony of Shadows , HE LOOKS like that same design as the Alicorn Amulet :)

It's really unbeliveable, but somehow Josh Haber really did a miracle with this episode. When you cram so much stuff in an episode with a constrained time, things can go wrong in so many many many ways... but somehow Haber managed to do everything perfectly without creating any pacing problem: handling very well 15 characters in the same story, unvealing several mysteries we went on for many years, and expanding the lore, the worldbuilding and the backstory ALL IN 44 MINUTES OF EPISODE, ALL BY HIMSELF AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Really if this isn't a miracle of animated storytelling, I don't know what it is.

Celestia's old ponish being rusty makes perfect sense to me; Twilight has been actively studying it very recently, whereas Tia probably hasn't had to speak it in several hundred years.

They mentioned that he vanished in the books and in the comics . A lot of times actually !

I dare say that this finale has better pacing than the new movie. Both were excellent but I like this a bit more.

Those "magical runes" at Ponehenge aren't so magical, but perhaps ancient graffiti. I can actually read old anglo-saxon runes and it technically translates to "poni rules", although I'm sure it's meant to be "pony rules". Edit: And the runes at Rockhoof's shovel roughly translate to his name, although it's misspelled as "Roch-Woof".

I have a theory that the sirens were exiled sea ponies that were banished from their underwater kingdom for some sort of crime involving the 3 gemstones they used to sing . Also there are going to be real sea ponies in the show in season 8 and not just transformed creatures who took their form.

Ever since the Tree of Harmony appeared, I had always hoped that we'd get an explanation for it. When I first learned about the Legends of Equestria and noticed there were 6 of them, I had a feeling they would be connected to the Mane 6 and OH MAN WAS I RIGHT!!!! This S7 finale was awesome! But I don't think it's going to be my fav finale or fav episode(s) of the season. For me, all the awesome stuff happened at the beginning of each episode. I did love Starlight though and with these Legends back I do hope to see more of them in the future. I can wait to see others react to this finale though.

I have a few things to say so here we go... About Starlight having an element, I didn't hear you all that well but it sounded like you was saying something about hope for her or at least that's what people been headcanoning. That's basically what you were saying right? Well Hope technically already is an element of harmony. Somnambula represented hope and her element later evolved into the element of laughter. I actually figure if Starlight represented an element then it would be a variation of the same element that was said by the people who worked on Equestria Girls to be Sunset Shimmer's element. Which they said is empathy, the ability to understand others and see where they are coming from. I feel that Sunset and Starlight sharing that element is appropriate in that regard but who knows. The sirens have effectively proved that Equestria Girls is canon and I couldn't be happier but the haters will try and fail desperately to prove the truth is a lie. It's like a drunk guy trying to prove to a cop that he isn't drunk while the guy's car is loaded with piles of empty beer bottles, his breath stinks of alcohol and he can't even walk half a step without falling on his face. Yes he can try as hard as he might to deny the truth but the cop isn't buying it. I enjoyed this finale and your reaction. So you was a little sick and had to cough at times, it's ok so don't worry. Still fun to see your reaction, especially to the sirens. I'm glad they showed the sirens in this. They could have just showed the pillars fight off some other monster and just leave it at that but they didn't. They purposely used the sirens for this and helped prove that equestria girls is canon. I literally freaked out when I saw them and I am so happy. I liked the pillars and am glad to hear all of them talk. I like that they gave Somnambula an Egyptian accent or at least that's what I think they were going for and I enjoyed Rainbow Dash's interactions with Flash Magnus. I totally ship them now. I also believe that Flash Magnus is Flash Sentry's ancestor so if that was made canon I would be happy. (Funny thing is I ship the pony version of Flash Sentry with princess Twilight and now I ship Rainbow with Flash Magnus and if both Flashs are related and these ships did happen then that would make Twilight and Rainbow related as a result.) I can't wait for season eight. If they were willing to show Flash Sentry and the sirens in the show so far then hopefully they will bring in more like showing the mirror in the background, having Twilight with her copy of the journal she uses to write Sunset or even better bring in Sunset Shimmer into the show for at least one episode or more, perhaps for season eight's finale. Doing so will only give the show more chances for good story telling and if anyone doesn't like it then they can simply ignore it. Anyways thank you and have a nice day.

I loved this episode. Twiley was obviously enchanted by presence of Starswirl, it's understandable she trusted his judgement more than her experiences. I loved how one of the flashbacks tied it more closely to EQG, other than rare cameo from pony Flash Sentry, we had nothing. And the fact we now have 6 legends living in Equestria, just interactions with them could fill half of a season. And they are certainly powerful allies to add to the ranks against whatever is the show building up to.I mean, this is like doubling Mane 6.

Andy--remember what Celestia once said about Starswirl: He never understood friendship! Therefore, him being a jerk is actually in character for him! It's also a fantasy trope that powerful wizards are often quite arrogant--and Starswirl has the knowledge and power to back up that arrogance!

Yeah. When it comes to Starswirl disappearing or the whole system of the Pillars, theycould have at least dropped some hints in earlier episodes. Even if they didn't think to go this angle until part way through Season 7.

I guess friendship problem vs beat the bad guy confuses me a little. When they went to Starlight's village, they did correct the skewing of the idea of friendship. But they also defeated her. And her reformation didn't happen until later. Maybe the map considered their victory good enough. Or maybe it knew she'd come around later. I don't know.

Well, Twilight may be the Princess of Friendship, but she is no infallible. Much like how she slipped up in the movie, she can make mistakes under pressure. And after her initial mistake here, she was dead set on following her idol. As the fight began and the Pony of Shadows monologued, she hesitated and her knowledge came back to her. As for seeing Stigein in there, I guess she assumed he'd been completely consumed and transformed, rather than being stuck inside.

For anyone still bitching about all the CG elements in the show: *technically* the entire show is in CG. Flash is vector graphic computer software.
