For some reason this is really heartwarming for me. Mario finally after 24 years and 1 month reunited with his long lost brother and together they defeated the Wario apparition and freeing Wario from what the apparition made him. And now, Mario and Luigi get to live together happily ever after. I don't know why but I find this pretty wholesome even though it's not meant to be taken seriously, also I loved the return of the spirit of the fountain. Good job my dude, keep up the great work!

Funfact this same message L is Real appears in Zelda Ocarina of Time in Don Dongo Cavern on the second level on a pedestal where you activate the switch is Luigi trying to tell us he is real or is it something Nintendo did for fun and could it be our minds are playing tricks on us in a mandala effect? We are all experiencing the sign saying L is Real but it's really a false memory in our head over blurred out words that make it appear that way.

Yeah, that white door was supposed to be Waluigi's door, a secret character, when you open it with a kind of key idk, you unlock him, then for the last star (50 + 50 + 50th star) you had to do a quest with Waluigi, I don't know, that's just my theory
