If this was real systema the fight would have been over in the first 5 seconds. Im not exaggerating. Its not by luck that it is trained on the elite special forces. The thing with systema is, that there are too many bullshit artists out there that ruin the name.

For systema You should anticipate the strike come in.. That's why your two hands always covering head this is sparing not a drill.

Systema like Aikido and many other martial art forms never seems to hold up in a real fight. All the training is with slow , deliberate , rehearsed moves . Which of course is NEVER the case in a real fight. I never see these guys really sparring each other do you ? Even these guys are going at it easy. All that training goes out the window the moment you start getting the hell knocked out of you ! Mixed Martial Arts with real contact and sparring is a far better platform in my opinion.

bruh, you never learn martial arts fast, how can you learn if it even hard too see? you will fight blindly without knowing the concept or the reason of the martial arts itself and remember, the spetsnaz? they learn this so called "ineffective" martial arts, do you even try it? if not you don't have any right to say or complain about it, what you see is different than the actions on the field

Sistema Is made to kill, MMA Is for sport, cant compare in a fight to the death and the Freedom to harm heavily the opponent sistema Is far superior, but you wont see most teqniques in a sparring, if you have to avoid breaking a neck, same goes for war version of aikido "koppo" and israeli SF martial arts. Those are not for competitive sports but made to kill people fast, 100% sure if experienced sistema fighter wants to TK a mma fighter he would succed in seconds. Too brutal for sports, thats why its mostly common tò see those trained in a special Force military unit and not on a ring. Glad tò enlighten but dont mistake sports with real fighting teq. The guy Is slapping for a reason

@Mr Tee - It's just bullshit man. That's all it is. My advice, look at Muay Thai, BJJ, Judo, Shooto, Arnis, Kali, Eskrima, Western Boxing, Free Style Wrestling, Greco Roman Wrestling, Catch Wrestling, HEMA, Wing Chun, Silat, Jeet Kune Do and.........I think that's it. Well, these are the main ones I looked at for formulating a CQC version for myself. Just took out what was the most effective and threw everything else away. Lastly, If you want to do a "sport" choose a martial art. If you want to learn how to fight, look at each style, take what is only useful to you and discard anything else that is not useful, do not look at the techniques you took as part of a style anymore but as just "combative techniques". Remember that there is "combatives" and then there is "Martial Arts". Combatives just focuses on what is useful for warfare while martial arts just focuses on what is expressive. Just saying.

Some fighters take time to process the opponent's patterns. A lot of Muay Thai guys, for example, take a round to learn a little about the fighter. It's all a balance, especially when facing someone so unorthodox like this Systema person.

The mma guy wore gloves and couldnt knock him out. Im pretty sure that if it was me, i would have been koed in the first five seconds. To me thats enough to prove that systema works against an agressor. Not saying its the best tool in a ring, of course.

I'm going to say something about systema In my opinion there is a lot of b.s. in it not all though however in real time I think the art takes on a different spirit some good some bad like all martial arts. For example karate is very powerful but not all blocks are good in my opinion it easier to move out of the way than block but not entirely bad either when done right

Joseph Kennedy Moving out of the way is risky and inefficient.Mostly used for sport purposes.For military and defence purposes blocking is good because they attack immedietly after or during the block.This is to neutralize the enemy asa quickly as possible.

AcidPixels l Minecraft Sorry man I mean I'm not really sorry but ive been doing ma's for quit some time and have trained karate/ kung fu and jujitsu. Some blocks work but while you have a punch aimed at your face traveling with velocity trying to chamber to set up for your block systematically doesn't always work. Why don't mma use many blocking technique's.???Look at lyoto machina what does he do??? Dances around looking for that one kill strike i.e. takeout. Block right and it's good. Block and simultaneously strike. Boxing mechanics are very natural just duck and weave are cover when punches and kicks are coming at you with knockout power that's a very natural thing to do.Of course boxing doesn't cover kicks but that's another topic/// Some blocks are very powerful but many are a waste of time. You can just use good jujitsu techniques to defend.

Joseph Kennedy I've been doing Systema for quite some time, and I can assure you it is way better than what this guy was doing. He was belly dancing. We are trained so that when we get attacked on the streets, we use deadly force/counter attacks. Systema is very hard to use like this, in a "friendly" fight. I'm assuming this guy's mma sucked too

Like all martial arts practice and devotion makes you better. Systema is great and so is MMA. Problem is Systema is hard to get used to and does require very intuitive movement that most of us aren't used to.

Poorest display of systema I've ever seen (and I don't think I've never seen a grown man with so little muscle in my entire life), not that the MMA guy was all that great (but if he went full strength on some of the punches and knees where he made contact, the systema guy would have been out cold). Anyway, I agree with the consensus, definitely not a great fight :)

Watching it in slow motion, he does pretty good. the fight opens with him checking a kick and then kicking the guy with the same leg he checked with. then he dodges a punch , slaps bro in the mouth and kicks him before he can even reset. he eats some shots but that is just fighting, in slow motion I can see that a lot of bald's punches are hitting gumby's elbows, which I am guessing he would have had problems without the pillows on his hands . baldy gets bitch slapped non stop and most of his counters hit nothing worth hitting and then right at 1:23 he gets a slap/push to the face that, if it had been a closed fist, would've ruined that guy's christmas. bald bro gets frustrated and tries to take it to the ground, bold move for a man with boxing gloves considering I'm sure most russian martial artists know a little sambo. at least enough to choke someone out that can't use their fingers. I remember seeing this years ago and thinking it was nonsense. but now that I watch it in slow motion , assuming this was a "friendly exchange", he gets zero points on style but a 8/10 in actually making his weird nonsense work.

Guys that was not pure Systema. Guy he could breacke his joints or punch him in the throat. On the ground he had so many option to breacke his foot and ribs. This was set up. At the war is no fair fight. Systema fight for Life, MMA fithts for medal.....

Systema looks to me like it is based on strong impact fight ending movements. I believe a good Systema practioner will beat a good MMA fighter in a street fight but never in an MMA match.

A good systema practitioner will win if the other dude literally lets him get all his hits in. The ability to land a decent punch isn't massively impressive against martial art fighters taught to avoid, block, tank... hits as part of their core training.

Pues es más estúpido lo que dices xd mma es un deporte de combate systema como dice el nombre es un sistema de combate la idea de comparar estos dos es ver y nutrir las artes marciales ver si sus técnicas pueden ser comparables con otros erc etc es como decir que in peleador de karate no piede pelear con alguien de boxeo ambos pueden ser utilizados como defensa personal xd
