Francis Ngannou talks about the physical and emotinoal fallout from his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua, how he felt after getting knocked down the first time, the unusually long wait for the fight to start, whether he felt more nervous for the fight with title shot on line, how he broke from tradition and watched the fight, whether Joshua would beat Tyson Fury, if he’s annoyed by revisionist history of his boxing career, whether the fight was the biggest payday of his career, when he can fight again, his desire to fight Tyson Fury, his reaction to the announcement he’d fight the winner of Ryan Bader vs. Renan Ferreira, whether his PFL contract requires him to fight in MMA this year, whether he regrets anything about the fight, and more.

Pressure and nerves can do weird things to the body. Some nights you just aren't right.... I don't think the result would've changed in any way. There were levels to this fight. Joshua in the Ruiz 1 fight had an operation after. They've never said or made excuses for what it was. He said if he does a book he'll say but respect that he never used it as an excuse. And when you hear him say that he completely lost his memory after those punches you can come to the realization that AJ hits even harder than we all expected. And believe me im not a casual. Even though I am a fan of AJ I have to say that the sweet science of boxing just entered his vocabulary. He is using range and distance. Very true. This is what makes boxing very dangerous. A doctor said it’s safer to be brutally knocked out in the first rounds than to take a whole 12 round lopsided beat down from the other opponent. One can be concussed but be extremely tuff and continue the fight and take on going punishment and suffer greatly for it later. Take boxer Patrick day for example, can’t believe his video is still on KZfaq but he died after his knockout in the later rounds. Only 26 or 27 years old.

Francis stood at the center ring to challenge AJ, he clearly underestimated AJ which was the beginning of his downfall, AJ performed better because he even overrated him and prepared for a hitman that can punch very hard. I still don’t understand what he’s saying about not being in that fight. Francis practically traded with AJ at the beginning of the fight and he even looked a lot sharper compared to Fury fight. That straight right hand was something he didn’t see coming and it was too clean. Everyone should watch the highlights again, Francis was in that fight and a lot sharper, that knockdown changed everything. He’s just too arrogant and in self denial to admit AJ’s power.

I think Francis's MMA instincts worked against him. He was doing massive parry's particularly with AJ's body shots and it left huge gaps in his defence. He'll get better and learn better boxing instincts over time. Even Ben Davison believes he improved massively and would give most heavyweights a hard time. Tighten up his defence and don't react so much to feints and i think he could be a real force in boxing over the next few years. This i think is a valuable learning experience for him.

What Francis said was that he wasn’t feeling mentally there. Have you ever had a bad day at the office? A presentation gone wrong? A date gone wrong because you were too nervous? The training camp wasn’t good because your guard was all over the place and you switched stance like it was nothing expecting to confuse AJ. Dude, AJ just fought one of the best Southpaws ever, he’s bitter about it and wants his belts back. You honestly think he’s not been working on how to defeat Southpaws. Right now AJ’s on one and he ain’t going to let no mma fighter mug him off by disrespecting him. Unless you’re Crawford, no boxer going to start switching stances in front of someone that has won most his fights by knockout. When someone in sparring starts with all that bs of switching stances, they are saying they don’t respect you. When that happens, you apply pressure and don’t allow someone to start getting comfortable. It’s not rocket science. It’s one of the most basic things you get taught in an amateur boxing club, are you right handed or left handed, stop switching because you’ll get confused 🫤 and end up in trouble

If francis fought the AJ who fought Ruiz or anyone else from years ago he probably would have had a better chance. But AJ has honestly evolved massively and I think it’s from bouncing around trainers and gaining more IQ and massively because of the Usyk fights and him experiencing the levels of a masterful skilled boxer for 24 rounds. Excuses. When you're the challenger, you're summoned to the arena earlier. Everyone knows that. 1 hour difference in arrival is not that big a deal if you're as tough as you told everyone. Only one thing led to this loss : overconfidence. He already looked beyond AJ and called out Tyson Fury. A pride comes before a fall. So long to the dream boxing career

Francis has never been knocked out and doesnt know what it feels like. He's not making excuses he's just not understanding how a big KO messes your head up. A lot of fighters describe these kind of confusions after a bad concussion.

lol. Strong understanding of concussions here. If you’re knocked tf out yes you got a concussion. Symptom intensity ranges depending on the individual. Cheers.

The reason why Francis went 10 with Fury is bc Fury isn’t a boxer that relies on knockouts. He is technical and evasive, and just like there is more than 1 type of MMA fighter there is more than 1 type of boxer. MMA often have an oversimplified view of boxing and don’t realize this. That’s why Floyd Connor went as long as it did. The martial arts aspect of boxing allows for there to be more than 1 way to win a fight. Against any top level KO artist, Francis is going to have the same results. It’s just like how MMA has grapplers vs strikers etc.

When u are the B side your team have to watch everything. From the food drink cars u used have to be your choice. In boxing people use this thing they put on AC when the AC is blowing when u are in the car it will get u a bit high then drain your energy later on. In boxing u have to have your own thing. It’s a dirty game

2:14 🗣️🗣️🗣️ I have to be honest. I don't trust what happened that night. I honestly suspect there has been foul play against Francis. From Turki Alshaiq saying he wanted to see Francis knocked out to Fury being so cosy with Turki that he lives at his house when in Saudi to Francis saying he felt drowsy even during his warm ups. *SOMETHING DOESN'T SMELL RIGHT ABOUT THAT FIGHT* Even that first knockdown didn't have knockdown power on it. Much less power to knockdown Francis. I don't trust any of what happened during that fight.

Francis lost, no sugar-coating needed. He was destroyed by a superior fighter, end of discussion. And you know what? I never bought into that Francis hype in the first place. Anthony Joshua came in and exposed the truth: the emperor was strutting around butt-naked. So let's drop the bull**** excuses.

AJ just used good basic boxing and executed the game plan to perfection. Francis has a bad habit of parrying the jab in a downward motion, which leaves him exposed. AJ utilized his lead hand feint to get Francis to react and drop his guard. The right hand was there for the taking all three times, and AJ didn't miss.
