♡ mmd/pmx tutorial ♡ How to rig a head to a body

hi!!
as the title says, this is a super easy tutorial on how to properly attach a head onto a body/neck so it doesn't leave a gap when you tilt your model's head upwards (´･ω･`)
i was having trouble figuring out why there was a big gap in my model's head so when i figured it out i thought other people might have the same problem too so i made this.

I have a different problem: The neck doesnt move the head. Its just a weird skin moving.. Can anybody relate or help?

Make sure your head bone is linked to your neck bone. You can check and do this under the bone tab on the main interface

Hello! Whenever I try, the head just doesn’t come on. Whenever I use transform mode, it just stay in place while the rest of the body moves.

Does this work to non TDA models ? I'm planning on editing all my AoT models and I got the textures edited to match the skin colors of both bodies and heads . The only difference from yours is that I have to attach the head to the perfectly headless body ( headless body without the back of the head base from the neck )

What if the head model is too big for the base model and i want to resize it? I mean i know how to resize... But if i do it, then the head's expressions (especially the eyes) turns into mud :( is there any solution to do it without screwing them up?

Okay, so this helped. But, I find it funny that the model's head now loads on the floor of the Transform View. Works fine in MMD though.

If anyone is having trouble with the face/body because it turns white when you import it, remember to add the texture files in the same file!

Um..idk if its Just the model or...Cause my mmd model doesn't have the back part of the neck to make the head and neck blend perfectly. Instead its like the top of a croon with a ball on the edge

this is really late, but if you're still running into the issue!!- have you tried moving the scarf away from the body before doing the attachment process? that should do the trick

What should I do if the head does not follow the rest of the body and creates a long neck? This happens every time I try to put a head on a body and have tried almost every solution but nothing works. Great video btw~!

okay so i tried to attach the head, but the base itself is really weird since the bones are different from normal cm3d2 bones, and also the neck is really thick so attaching the head onto it is weird since the head will just sink into the neck

im using PMX editor and every time i load in the head it is white and doesnt have no detail what so ever. im following your directions but it just wont cooperate!

the pmx model (clothing) and their corresponding textures have to be in the same folder/location as the base.

I keep having a thing where I can't see the face I added, yet I see shadows and joints of the face. The base is fine, but the face is invisible.

are the textures not loaded? (body/head/clothes appear white, but the shape is there). All of the textures, spa, whatever have to be in the same folder.

Go into the material tab and go to the place it says 'tex' and click on the green box then click file and open and find the texture that is missing.

Okay, the thing is, the texture works sometimes for me, idk why. So i go, and load the texture, and when it finishes loading, it goes back to being white, also where i do have textures, they don't save when i save what i've done in pmx editor. When I open the pmx file back up,its all white again, also in mmd

you need to load the textures on the material box

Is the texture in the folder where your model is? If not, do that.

you need to copy and paste the exact head you want in the same folder the base model is located. i suggest selecting the whole body and moving it backwards/to the side and THEN loading the head
