This is a great compilation because it perfectly showcases why so many of these restaurants fell into disorder. Ego and delusions. When you have owners actively rooting against their own chefs because of personal pride, just get out of the business. You've lost it. It might be your restaurant; but you're selling to customers. And if your ego isn't willing to accommodate that; or worse, convince you that it's somehow other people's fault... You're done.

Absolutely right. As a business owner, you should be proud of your ability to find, hire and keep hold of talented people in every role. If you think you're better than your employees at the job you're paying them to do, that doesn't mean you're fantastic at your business, it means you're bad at recruiting.

That whole burger segment is testament to why you should trust the chefs who are there to do their passion. Every time there's a problem with these restaurants and the food sucks it's usually because the owners stifle the staff and allow no input whatsoever. Let people do what they're good at and you'll thrive. Edit: yes, I get that sometimes the chefs are at fault, that's why I said 'usually'. Anyway, we're on a video showcasing the owners being more in the wrong in comparison to the chefs.

There’s a UK Kitchen Nightmares episode where the owner was letting the chef have full control with the menu and spending whatever he wanted on it but he was young and cocky so the food was a confused mess and out of touch with the community it was in. @@oqp489 No. I dont mean male chefs. Older generations of women were taught Traditional Values such as cooking and baking. Not males. That's why many of these older women in these restaurants who make desserts are enjoyed by Gordon. These older women mastered their skills in the kitchen because that's what was valued in them from older Generations. Now younger generations of women have been brainwashed to believe that they are valued for their careers. Instead of cooking they value eating instead. Not sure why it's so hard for you simple brains to understand that. Maybe if you quit smoking marijuana playing video games and burying your heads in Mindless entertainment, then maybe you would have a brain that could understand what I'm saying.

Whether or not it's because they're older, there seems to be a somewhat common trend with the food Gordon likes: Older people (usually a mother), personal recipe, and it's made with passion. Since they're older, and passionate, they also seem to be able to change and experiment with their recipe to make it better. Really wholesome in my opinion.

And I can assure you - if someone sold bland, flavorless food on top of the restaurant not being right for the area and being poorly ran - the older group of the town where going to let you, your mom, your dad, your brothers, your sisters, and your cousins know about it to stay away from there. When Gordon said that David’s redemption burger was delicious and you see the owner’s face turn sour that made my blood boil. Why were those owners so deadset on sabotaging the person in charge of making the product that they selling. Did you people just forget that your running a business?!

Because the fact that he actually had talent as a chef shifts the blame of the failing restaurant onto them.

Because they're a bunch of delusional, narcissistic, abusive monsters who care about nothing but themselves, and only know how to destroy everything they touch. That's why their son was such a depressed, broken wreck of a man, that's why they drove away a perfectly good chef out of pure spite, that's why their restaurant went under, and that's why Alan is currently burning in the darkest hottest pits of Hell. You can take an incompetent chef and give them the skills to be great. You can give a lazy chef the inspiration and motivation to reach their potential. There's no fixing a rotten soul.

@@doublem6884 That part. Those owners were the absolute worst and were dead ass convinced everyone else were the reasons they were failing, when it was obvious to everyone else they had absolutely no idea what they were doing and were too arrogant to listen to people who had a clue

That's literally it, they forget that they're running a business not "Try out what I like to personally eat" that majority of people would almost puke just witnessing what abomination of a food that's been made

Dessert* my friend. We don’t eat pile of sand in our mouth haha. No jokes by the way. Surely we all like to end our fantastic meal with a sweet savoury.

I remembered it because I want two scoops or servings of dessert but I don’t want more than one desert to cross. I think my teacher in elementary taught it to us like that and I still use it to this day. 😅

Ramsay's next show should be "Chef Rescue" where he takes good chefs like David and Emil out of crappy restaurants like the one managed by those bums Allan and Jen, and take them to restaurants that are struggling but have super cool owners who actually deserve a thriving business.

"Chef Swap" take competent chefs who are being stifled from restaurants that are failing and swap them with chefs who suck but have too much freedom in the kitchen. See what the respective owners think of the new chefs.
