What went on in Miami was over the course of 2 years. First with Brady, then with Sean Payton. And probably would've kept going if Flores hadn't outed Steven Ross.

The Dolphins tampered with a player while he was on contract with 2 different teams over a period of 2 years. The Falcons did this over a period of 2 days with a player that was already going to Atlanta, with the Vikings having already accepted he was going. Comparing them is absurd.

@@codyb.3015except even in this video they talk about it happening all the time, and the dolphins didn’t even sign either of them. Albert repeatedly says it’s a victimless crime. But it was a gross disparity in punishments. Also, you say it was 2 days but we don’t know that timetable at all officially, so that’s pointless to include.

I think this only becomes bad when teams are luring a player away from another team. In this case Kirk had already agreed he wasn’t staying with the Vikings. The Falcons just were in a rush to beat out any other potential competitors.

This is going to Walmart to the self checkout lines where a lot of people put things in their bags without paying but the falcons happen to do it with an attendant right behind them unknowingly.

I mean, literally yes. There is already a 2 day legal tampering period before the start of the new league year where teams can speak to agents. Almost always, teams are going to speak to the players as well. Like Albert said, you can cross the line but don’t dance on it.

@@colecaine. obviously not what i meant. i mean during the illegal tampering period, the league clearly doesn't care that much cause aint nobody giving an aging qb with an achilles injury that much guaranteed money 10 minutes into free agency without getting access to the medicals ahead of time. and no the players cannot talk to the teams only agents and kirk blatantly admitted he broke the rule. cleary bert is doing damage control for the league saying nobody cared. vikings would gladly have had kirk back at a reasonable price but thanks to the tampering he's gone. absolute garbage punishment from the league per usual.

With the slap on the wrist that Atlanta did, only opens the door for every team in league to do this. If it cost a 5th round pick and $300k in fines just sets a presadance.

It depends on what they do. Falcons talk to cousins 2 days before they really could. When he was already gone from the Vikings. So if it’s like that. I don’t care if the saints got mahomes from doing that. No matter what he was going to go there anyway if that’s the case

The point is teams all do this…hence all the contracts that are agreed on 1 minute to 20 minutes after the tampering window “opens”. Falcons had to be punished for what is widely understood goes on because Kirk said he talked to trainers within the tampering period like an idiot. Slap em on the wrist and move on.

L Take. The falcons got in trouble for talking directly to players about traveling arrangements AFTER already agreeing to terms DURING the tampering stage. I'd argue that the punishment was egregious considering those circumstances. There really seems to be a hate agenda against the falcons for some reason.

lol. The NFL statement was “This includes discussion of travel arrangements or other logistical matters, which the club acknowledges took place…” it’s obvious there was already talk of a contract/offer. Why else reach out about travel and logistics.

It’s like THEY don’t understand the issues well enough to discuss intelligently so they cover for it by throwing out some buzz words from something they read. Jesus if they are only going to slap them on the wrist dont have the rule. You cant play this game where its really not a big deal because we dont feel like it is. The Dolphins front office tampered with a player while he was on contract with 2 different teams over a period of 2 years. This isn't that. It wasn’t about tampering in terms of contract. It was about logistical matters (Kirk talked to the head athletic trainer about his rehab). Comparing them is absurd.

Don't dance or spit on the line? The Falcons had players texting kirk, their head medical man was actively talking to him. Falcons owner threw a ton of money at kirk. And kirk blabbed about it. This whole thing reeks of hypocrisy. The nfl has rules, they just don't want to enforce it. Imagine if it was your qb fans. How pissed would you be if he was lured away in such a manner. it’s hypocrisy if you go 1 mile over the speed limit, and then complain if somebody else doesn’t get a ticket for doing the same thing. Obviously, the dolphins situation was way more intentional. @@dwayne_ascending so the officer just ignores that law. Even in a school zone and such. Plenty of cops will pull you over for that. He'll I have been written a ticket for not counting to 10 before I leave a stop sign.

@@TheWarshire How did the officer “ignore the law”…? The guilty perpetrators got a quarter of a million dollar fine +50K + a draft pick. My point is, there’s no need to make it out to be such a travesty of injustice. Almost every team does this, just like almost every driver speeds. If it was reckless driving worthy, I’m sure they would’ve got reckless driving penalties. The only real noteworthy thing about this whole thing is, they got caught. Now all the “never sped in my lifers” (especially and/ or even in a 25 mph school zone) are devastated. 😂

So we saying every person who goes 7 miles per hour over the speed limit needs to get fined? Not enough police to enforce it. Falcons were going 7 over like others but these dummies happen to cut off a cop in the process. That’s all.
