You should always drain and clean fuel filter bowl

My only comment is that it is best to make sure you can get the Fill off before dumping the oil. Kinda like checking for toilet paper before sitting on the thrown. Wanna make sure you can finish the job

Good video. I'm not sure how big a difference the x748 and x750 units are, but I have a x750 and it's my understanding that when replacing the fuel filter the sediment bowl should be filled before connecting it to the screw on connector? Question...did you close the shut off valve before changing the fuel filter? I'm asking to see if I need to close it or not when performing this procedure. Also, my x750 has two different oil inputs and neither of them have dipsticks. I know this sounds ridiculous but you wouldn't believe the pain this is causing me? Everytime I check the oil level I feel like I'm rolling dice on the possibility of running a dry engine. The only time I know it's true is after changing the oil because I know exactly what the capacity it holds. After running it, there's going to be some oil loss but it is hard to tell by sight. I would appreciate any help on this, if anyone has experience they can share with me. Thanks for the video.

That is a lot easier than changing oil on my 322

Can you give a part number or link to the fuel filter wrench you used? thanks

What do you use to clean out your hydraulic couplers?

I just use a shop towel and brake cleaner. That is a combo that works well for me.

Interesting that they moved the fuel filter to the front instead of the left side like it is on my x595. Wonder why the change?

No telling.... or at least not at my level of knowledge. Unless there was something in the way. It is a little easier to get to being front and center vs behind stuff.

I believe it’s actually a different engine, although it looks pretty similar.

@@mmrbeef so I have an 07, 748 since new and I have a question about the fuel bowl. Where the supply line comes in to the filter there’s a 90 degree metal fitting that goes in to the bowl. Mine actually pulls out with your fingers. I’m guessing that’s not supposed to be able to do that?

@@oe542 same family 3cyl yanmar. Newer engines are slightly smaller displacement versions.

@@wickedcoyote271 I don’t remember, when did they change? I’m thinking a 595 that has a different engine than a 748.

my Kawasaki engine has built in small drip casting on the engine , but access to removing off the filter is limited just like you , i testing out a K&N filter with a hex nut on top for changing the filter , the K&N filter is double the cost of a regular filter you would buy at the John Deere Dealer .for fun i test fitted a Honda CRV filter on my Kawasaki engine , and if fit OK , but it was about a inch longer than the standard John Deere filter. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZsBmqsmC38XQh30.html

Interesting about the K&N filter. I've cross referenced the Wix and Farm filters but not a K&N.

to get the proper K&N filter i had to reference the engine model on my JD X360 on the K&N web site , i took multiple crossfire on different web site , and knock on wood that i choice the right K&N filter , i had a backup plan just in case the filter did not work out , it was a new JD filter from the dealer , or try original engine OEM filter no., example , Yanmar engine filter no , yanmar may have a filter number that is different than the John Deere Number i think this is the web site i used to back check cross references www.oilfilter-crossreference.com/convert/JOHN-DEERE/AM125424 in the end i went for the Hail Marry .

try looking at the K&N filter web site for the engine model , eg. Yanmar 1234abc model , it may be in the industrial engine section .I did all this preparation all last year and into the new year , i try to remember how i got yo the conclusion of my oil filter number. i did not try to put on an K&N filter until my manufacture warranty was expired on my X360 , i used dealer filter until then.
