They couldn't afford outfits or make up artists or fancy stages and MVs (MGT was literally filmed in Umji's grandma house or something) and even heard Sowon implying once that they couldn't buy much food/drinks during their long waiting hours while promoting so ofc they would be called ugly when you compared them with their peers (Twice, CLC, OMG...). Yes, they are also growing beautifully but they were never not good looking or ugly.

@FaonBlanc Sometimes acting sexy can be empowering for some idols. For example: Hwasa. Despite getting hate for wearing revealing outfits, she stays strong and continues to express herself the way she wants to, not the way society forces her to. I do get your point though, since I've seen some idols acting sexy when they really shouldn't (for example, I've seen companies forcing idols that are minors to do sexy dances and that is BAD).

I think it's because others overdo it to the point it's cringy. Some rap parts are unnecessary and sometimes ruin the songs. There are songs that sound like 4 in 1 😐. I enjoy some songs like that because they're catchy but lose my interest real quick. This song is catchy but soft in the ears so I can listen to it over and over. Gfriend has their own essence and brings something unique to the table.
