Trying To Keep Up With The X-9 Combine in corn is definitely a challenge for Onyx in the grain cart and our 3 semi trucks! #Harvest2020 #JohnDeere
The goal of the Grain Bin Safety campaign is to reduce the occurrence of grain bin accidents by raising awareness of the hazards and by raising funds to equip first responders with the tools and training needed to respond quickly when necessary in the event of a grain bin accident. The funds raised will be used to purchase Grain Bin Rescue kits and training for our first responders.
Donate Today:
www.gofundme.c...
Nominate Your Local First Responders:
Best point of contact at your department? What equipment does your department/responders need? Is there a specific brand of equipment your community uses as a combined effort with other local departments? Any other information you think we might find useful? Please send request to givingback@mnmillennialfarmer.com
Zach and Becky Johnson will assemble a panel of volunteers to review request a distribute donations accordingly.
Funds raised will be distributed to rural first responders to purchase grain bin rescue systems and training.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I’m 13 and 3 years ago my friend who is a year older than me lives 3 hours away on a pretty big farm well we are raking hay one day and he said he was getting tired and he asked me if I knew how to drive I said yes and we swapped seats well keep in mind this was 3 years ago and I wasn’t as strong back then as I am now and I would push in the clutch and he’d reach over and shift for me and he said compared to his first time bar raking hay I’m very good

So nice to see you and the family on todays farm. From the seat of an old hand-brake Allis Chalmers WC from sixty years ago, on a 100 acre pile of ledge and rocks in Massachusetts of all places, some great memories I would not trade with anyone. And having a son who wants to be where you are is hard to describe. My little boy is now over 50. The first time I heard the neighbors green and yellow model A, I fell in love with that sound, used to work for him,(40 cents an hour), but got to drive his green machines. "You can take the boy off the farm, but you cant take the farm off the boy." and so it is.

Tip for Onyx: Don't ever leave home. His life was mine growing up. Exactly doing what he is doing. My father ran about 3500 acres growing up, part his and part custom combining and drilling. Mom delivering our bologna lunch every day to dad and me and his hired hands. I left after I graduated. Biggest regret of my life. Stay at home kid. Take over that family farm. Just watching this brings back that smell. The sounds and sights of being out in the middle of nowhere at night harvesting, combining, cultivating and discing.

I didn't start running machinery until I was 12. By 14 I was the hired man on Dad's farm. So I'm watching these harvest videos with great memories. My best advice is to make sure Onyx goes to university or Ag college after high school. It'll teach him about surviving in the outside world without mom and dad close by. He'll learn to make decisions on his own, some bad but mostly good decisions while in school. Then come home and go farming. All that he has learned, both while growing up and in post secondary school, will help Onyx be a great farmer!

Another great video. Enjoyed watching the x9 working. What a machine. It really eats up the corn-wow. Good variety in video and enjoy that. Onyx doing an outstanding job with the grain cart. Had mom riding along for a while, that is good. Good to see your dad getting around. Hope he continues to improve. Always good to see Jim. Thanks for the video. Iowa farm boy from years ago.

Farm families are blessed to work together! I think you'd enjoy our family friendly farming youtube channel County Line Cowpokes kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gbJ7qbGmx9-of2Q.html. Our farm can't compete with MF's amazing equipment so our videos include humor that the entire family will enjoy along with beautiful farm scenery including drone footage, and some agriculture education. ▼

Onyx, I use to run the grain carts on my grandfathers farm. We didn’t have an auger wagon. I had to fetch and unload gravity carts into an auger to the grain bins. Then return them back to the field in another spot so he could unload in certain areas. We only had an old 850 massy combine and open cab farmall tractors.
