Growing up in MN playing hockey taught me things that have definitely accelerated my career outside of the game. How to value relationships, deal with adversity, making smart personal decisions as a teenager on behalf of the team at a young age. I played multiple sports in high school but hockey was special. (as well as my main sport for reasons mentioned)

as someone who coached kids for 3 years the parents are brutal. I was coaching lacrosse after playing 6th grade through 12th grade and parents who couldnt tell me how to throw a ball were lecturing me on what drills their u12 kid should be using. THey would rate my practices on how effective they were. we wone 12 of 15 games each year and the kids were happy and getting better with each practice. Parents still voted to fire me because I wouldn't use their practice structure

@@samkark This so much. Youth hockey ONLY exists in MN and has existed for so long because of the parents and individuals that stepped up and took on roles.

Did they miss your jersey Eric? Holy F##k, an absolutely amazing documentary, especially if you're a Minnesotan, and that's all you can say? Darby has a couple playoff series wins, what do you have?

I don't think he has anything to do with this stuff. Associations die when the registration falls too far to make it viable and that is when they have to co-op. It is sad but the inner city kids don't really play hockey.
