Mo'Nique won't be fully appreciated until she's gone. Her demonstration is often misunderstood. She is a legend!

She definitely is which is sad cuz she's always been about love We need to give this Queen her roses now. She's not just talking sisterhood, she's walking it.

Monique is appreciated now. She is the only one bold enough to call it like it is and Hollywood and Lee Daniels dont want to be exposed. There is no REAL defense coming from Lee Daniels only what Monique did or did not do. She is speaking truth.

I have always appreciated her so I never thought about it this way until you said it, but you are so right. I just pray that she knows there are people out here who see how hard she is fighting and who understand how much it costs her to NOT bow down to the golden calf.

I love my boxers....Let me try to give you some perspective....We people of color feel the need to openly express pride about our "blackness" because the majority..... does the EXACT OPPOSITE. People of color are portrayed as less than, in every way. We are portrayed as lacking education, lazy, lacking ambition, incompetent, nasty, ugly.....the list goes on. We aren't acknowledged by the majority for accomplishments, often not even acknowledged as human, deserving of the same respect and dignity of the rest. When mass media covers "US" they usually show us being handcuffed, the ones who don't have a good grasp of the English language and so forth. It's therefore up to us to openly acknowledge that we are indeed capable and do in fact achieve in the same way every one else does. We are mature, ambitious, hard working, civil people. All we want is for the majority to accept that there's good bad and ugly in every race. What's tantamount however, is that we want the majority to acknowledge that WE BLACK people are just people, the same as the rest. Much respect!!

@@kellyannr4171 That was an excellent way of explaining it but the most important thing black people have to realize is that white people and those who are racist will NEVER accept you ,but they do need to respect you. The good traits about black people you mentioned , being hard working, mature, and all the other things are traits that should be "respected" however the reason they will never truly accept you are for reasons you have no control over. The color of your skin, your bilogical genes, are things the other reasons that spark racism. They will never accept you but they can and should respect you.

I agree. And also because she has a mind of her own. Lee Daniels and Steve Harvey said Monique wouldn't play the 'money game'. The game isnt for all celebs its for black celebs. They tried to keep her in a little box and she wanted to go her own way so she got blackballed despite her winning various amount of awards for her performance in the film 'Precious' its ridiculous. Hope she continues to remain humble and real.

Monique got black balled but refuses to quit. I like her drive and I hope she makes a comeback and gives the middle finger to Fox, BET, and Lee Daniels while in the process.

@jamaljamal61697 жыл бұрын
Not kissing the white mans ass is what got her black balled and Lee Daniels turn his back on her when she needed him most.
@miamac637 жыл бұрын
Jamal, you were not there. People, especially black people, need stop blaming the white man unless they can personally speak on a direct encounter. And even then "name" the individual or group, i.e. that person who did the actual behavior or that business entity, instead of generalizing all whites or all white men. To generalize is bias and racists in itself. Racism can ONLY END if we ALL make change in 2017 (and going forth).
@jamaljamal61697 жыл бұрын
miamac63 The white man told everybody that she was difficult to work with all because she didn't jump when they said too and that is a black ball.
@miamac637 жыл бұрын
Again, were you there? All he said, she said. Celebs make deals with the devil and cry foul when it doesn't go their way. Since the beginning, Hollyweird has been one seedy business. Again, people have names. Like blacks don't like being grouped and blamed as one, neither do whites. Until this double standard changes, racism will continue being alive and well and victim mentalities being born and fed. God gave ALL OF US freewill. We choose.

If you ain't real you can't get it. Monique is REAL. I met her last year and was so enchanted by her willingness to hug and speak with every fan after her stand up at the Improv in Tampa. She even called my Mother in Law over the phone just to say "hello". She's a real WOMAN.
