I have the same problem with my back tyre pinching the ramp on, if I remember to take it out before I tie the bike in it’s all good but yeahhh once the bike is tied in it’s a mission. Being a short bloke with a lifted car I struggle getting the bike on the back haha. Also my spare wheel carrier protrudes to far to load the bike on so I have to run the spare in the car which takes up a bit of space. Besides all that it works well and I love the stabiliser on the tow bar with the Allen head bolts, locks it in place really well

I’m going to go look at one of these tomorrow, heading from Melbourne to Noosa and of course need the boot storage, I’m hoping the 390 adventure is alright for the motow, I believe it’s 158 kilograms dry so should still come in under the rated 180 😬🤘🏻

Good vid man. Have you had any cracks on any of the welds ? I have a couple of tiny ones under the front wheel. I see motow also have a steel model now. I've used mine every week for about 4 years. The secret really is just tying them down from the centre (although i use straps around my perimeter frame instead of turnbuckles). As a backup you can use a chain or wire from the hitch with even a quick dogclip or snap buckle to latch onto the bike at a premeasured length for a backup system. I think the biggest mistake is people thinking they need to be tied down forward with the straps.
@MAKENTRAX

Thanks mate. No cracks in mine yet. Yeah as you would have seen i do the same as you and just tiedown from the middle and just have front straps there as a back up. Thanks for watching and commenting your experience mate👍

Great video mate! can I ask what the hitch is like going into the vehicle? I've noticed a few of them 'rock' a bit from side to side. When you moved your bike it didn't seem to have much movement and was wondering what it looked like to keep it so stable. Cheers
@MAKENTRAX
@MAKENTRAX 3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate this rack comes with a ANTI TILT bracket that eliminates any major movement by locking the rack firmly to the drawbar. Check out 1.50 and 3.30 on the link below of my video when i first got the rack. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b8CUfdJk2s3Ylqc.html

Good info mate as usual. I have a question not related to this at all but looking at closeups of your bike do you run stock radiators and im guessing you have a fan. Ive had my 08 450 for a while and the radiators are not oem but unbranded and the guy told me slightly bigger than normal for better cooling but no fan. In your style of riding is the fan neccessary. I know stupid question but thought I would ask you. Cheers mate
@MAKENTRAX
@MAKENTRAX 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Pete. OEM radiators and OEM thermo fan, and yes the fan is essential for the style of riding i do. I have only had the bike boil on me once and that was in the middle.of summer on a track that took us 3hrs to do 5kms😁.

You look like a warrior, bro, I bet you've seen some sh!t just by looking at the shins 😆One thing to note; if you're on the road after dark it isn't legal unless that number plate is lit. I have the Rack & Roll which comes with the led tail light with number plate illumination. Keep twisting!

@@MAKENTRAX Thanks. I'm new to transporting on the rear obviously. I bought the Motow 1500 for my CT125 and the bike is slightly out of shape for the rack (plus has rubber pads on the footpegs). Hence I'm going through a range of options to loop over the pegs.

@MAKENTRAX Ай бұрын
The diagrams don't show mirrors, they just indicate the widest part of the vehicle like bumber and guards etc. i used a straight edge off my guards as the prado tapers in alot so makes it look like the bike sticks out heaps. but its right on the limit
