Hey Reine! Thank you so much for your kind comments and I’m elated that you found the lessons beneficial and informative! Yay 🎉 Hahaha! Beer sounds good, but it’s got to be something after 5pm or the alarm bells will go off 🤣 especially on a double demerit weekend! Take care and it was a privilege to have assisted you.

Hey great vidoes! They are really helpful, I just have one question: In regard to the Left something Behind exercise, I have attempted it and watched videos many times, but it really seems difficult to stay on the correct side of the road when reversing out of the driveway. I drive a big car and even if I instantly lock the steering I end up going onto the other side of the road a bit, I lost a point for "understeering" when it was not possible for me to steer more than I did. So I guess I need to be going deeper into the driveway? but then I have a problem with the "private property mailbox line" is the front wheels that have to be behind the mailbox or the nose of the car? It seems impossible to correctly complete the manoeuvre in a big car with the houses that have their mailbox relatively close to the road. Thanks in advance! I really appreciate it.

Hey and thanks for watching! I do understand your concern regarding the path issues when reversing out of the driveway especially with a bigger vehicle. What I usually teach my students is that go into the driveway keeping as left of it as you can. Once almost in, hook your vehicle sharply to the right, pointing your nose of the car at 2 o’clock or about 45 degree angle. Change your gear, and sharp lock reversing so that the vehicle pivots on the back wheel, keeping you as close to the inside kerbs. Hope that explanation helps :) Best Regards

@mydrivewa
@mydrivewa 11 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching. Best way to calm the nerves is to know the test area well and also have your supervisor do a mock run to see how you perform under the spotlight. Remember, the assessors are NOT out to fail you, but are there to just validate if you are safe enough to be on your own. Best of luck!

Hello, my test is in a couple of days and I am just wondering if its fine to do 45 degree method to reverse park. This is easiest for me as I have a big car but I saw on another driving instructor youtube that "They mark you down" since you block both sides. Should I switch to 90 degree, or continue the 45 degree method (that was in the video)? Cheers
@mydrivewa
@mydrivewa Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for reaching out and watching our videos. The 90 degree / 2 bay reverse park method is of course the preferred method as it does not impede traffic flow. However it’s difficult to comment on how some assessors score the 45 degree reverse park which could depend on traffic conditions in the car park area and your safety checks prior to and during the reversing manoeuvre. If you are trying to reverse a bigger vehicle like a Prado, you could still do it at 90 deg, but you will have to leave slightly more than a door length from the end of the bay to the car. Hope this helps and let me know how the test went for you. Best Wishes Glenn MyDrive School

@mydrivewa
@mydrivewa Жыл бұрын
Hi Ruth and thanks for watching our videos. Apologies for the delayed reply as I was down south for the weekend. With regards to the Form 1 Lane, the general rule is that .... 🅰️ 30m from the merge point, you will need to begin to flash your indicators, 🅱️ 2 seconds prior to merge point, you will need to do the blind spot check. As for speeding, just a suggestion, I sometimes find it helpful during test to leave a 2cm window gap so that you can also hear the wind speeds. Hope that helps and MyDrive wishes you all the best for your test.

Can we ride 70 kms in fourth gear ...or do we need to shift it to fifth
@mydrivewa
@mydrivewa 10 ай бұрын
At 70km/h, it is usually preferable on 5th. But that also depends on the power of your vehicle and the gradient of the climb.

@@mydrivewa if you don't mind me asking what was the speed limit and what was the speed she was doing? Is it an instant fail if you go like 3km over the limit?
@comradethump
@comradethump Жыл бұрын
@@asdfasdf-to5mu The speed issue was when they turned left at the lights @3:53 onto Third ave, there was roadworks occuring and a sign on the left of the road indicating the speed limit was changed to 40km/h which is standard around roadwork vehicles. I don't know the speed the student was travelling but she exceeded 40km/h which is an instant fail. You can not go above the speed limit, you need to remain in contol of the vehicle and reduce your speed to the posted speed by the time you reach the sign. If you are travelling faster than the posted speed once passed the sign it is a major mistake and instant fail. Hope that helps :)

I had very good experience with the driver instructor I'm Perth, nice people but the system is corrupt because working to fail people and make money. All the time the assessor fail people for different and new rules. Yesterday I respected the signal 20km/h and I failed because I respected the signal WTF! If people fail over and over again is because the system fail to support people learn how to drive....we have a small learn book with many missing information...I ask myself why a rich country don't have money to invest in a good learn book, more Assessors, more schools to learn to drive, camera inside the cars, access to your test record etc....this system making someone rich but prejudice thousands of people because drive your car must be a minimum human right especially in a city like Perth where is almost impossible work without car

@@mydrivewa thank you. Unfortunately in Perth the system to calculate the PDA points is not honest and clear because the assessor have power to decide his own rules and points. This create a very corrupt system I never see this in other countries usually they have a very clear and honest system to calculate points during the test. But anyway I know the drivers instructions doing the best to help the learner drives to pass in the test
