Thank you for watching our videos at MyDrive WA. Parking is an item in section 2 of the driving test under Stop for Shopping. So it’s essential that you are able park reasonably well to pass the section and criterion.

Glad you like the videos. We unfortunately do not have instructors up north so it maybe a while longer before we do videos of Mirrabooka and Joondalup. But the road rules do apply irrespective of where you do your drive test. All the best 😀!

The drive test is always stressful. But just remember that the assessors are NOT out to fail you, but they just need to validate that you know the road rules and are a safe driver. Cheers

Sorry to hear that you had an unfortunate experience at the Cannington DOT. Just curious to know what happened to make the assessment intimidating? I trust that you have since passed the drive test?

@mydriveschool well can you believe it. I got the same assessor in both of my PDAs at the cannington DOT... that assessor tries very hard to fail the candidates by not even conducting the test. For example, for the first time, he failed me within 5 seconds, that why I was not wearing sear belts while checking the car brakes, etc. Second time, he didn't conduct my pda because my seatbelt was frayed. Even though I just serviced my car before the test n the mechanic didn't mention anything about the seat belts. He was not friendly at all and kind of in a rush. I was wondering if I could book again at this centre and if the same assessor is assigned to me, I will back off since I know he will again not conduct the test for another unreasonable point.

That was indeed quite unfortunate failing the PDA twice with the same person. Wishing you all the best for the next one though. Fingers crossed that third time lucky 🍀

I’ve always liked the 11.25am test times as the assessors go for their lunch break at 12noon - so most of the drive tests ends promptly then 😀 Make sure you are familiar with the RHT median procedure (Mollie’s Video) and make your mirror checks VERY obvious (wear a cap or big earrings and wiggle it) especially before you brake. Most of the guys here at Success are very chill, (soz I can’t mention names here) so have a chat with them along the way. Hey glen I had a very emotional day, I went to have my test but my driving teachers car had an issue with his car so my pda got canceled and I feel like I will never get luck with my driving lesson let’s hope for the next time it goes okay

Hi @pnghganh, Thank you for reaching out. When approaching roundabouts / give way / intersections, what I usually recommend is the 20/20 rule - that is 20m from the intersection etc, slow down to 20km/h. If your view is obstructed use the 20/10 rule - 20m slow down to 10km/h to make sure you can see. You should not stop at a give way if it’s safe, but if you pull out in front of a vehicle, you will certainly be doing another drive test 😅 All the best for your upcoming drive test! Best Regards

I used to work around the Cannington area and on a Wednesday at that time the streets shouldn’t be too busy. The car park may be a bit busy but the back streets should be alright.

Good luck with your test though, try not to be nervous and just focus on one thing at a time. Don’t think ahead about what’s to come just focus on what the instructor says at that time.

If the minors are repeatedly in the same category eg. Looking / Signals etc - it’s a fail as well. Have a look at our video on the test score sheet and you will understand better. Cheers

@@mydrivewai had my licence for 20 years and had 3 flawless passes with car automatic then car upgrade to manual and recently HR upgrade and i was always told to use pull and push technique on steering wheel and never to let the wheel slip through my hands or do hand over hand steering during driving assessment

Hello! A major mistake is the equivalent of an instant fail case. As for the minors, I have a video on my channel explaining the various criteria used to measure performance in the driving test (It's called Actual Driving Test Score Sheet). Statistically speaking, for the year ending November 2022, data shows that Kelmscott has the highest pass rate of 44.6% followed by Success 42.4%. On the other end of the spectrum, Mirrabooka had only a 30.9% pass rate. With that in mind, it’s always helpful if you are somewhat familiar with the test area so that there will be fewer surprises on test day. Hope that helps! All the best with your choices. Glenn
