I took a Glock course in Smyrna, GA where Shane Coley, Glock's shooting team captain was doing a demo. One of the guys in the class made a comment about all of the modifications Shane had on his comp guns. Shane proceeded to pull a brand new stock G17 out of its box (with the polymer iron sights) and then dumped a full mag into the 10 ring at 25 yards haha. Mods make shooting easier for good shooters, but they arent going to make you better just by installing them.

I'm really liking my Glock performance trigger with the Johnny Glock VEX trigger shoe. Best one I've used, but I do have to keep it clean and lubricated for best results. When it is clean and lubricated, I've never felt a better trigger in a Glock, and I do have a drawer full of other ones for what it's worth.

Going to second this guy on this, phenomenal combo but every 1K rounds or so it’s need a spray of break free into trigger housing or the reset will get a little iffy.

@@zelevenzelevenz9823 Johnny tested it with the GPT with excellent results and sells it specifically for the GPT now too. I tried a Timney first, but I had too many reliability problems with it and stuck it in a draw until the GPT came out. I do a little polishing, but otherwise leave it stock and that is the set up for me. I shoot tens of thousands of rounds per year and want full reliability without tinkering. I've found that keeping it clean and lubed and replacing springs at the appropriate intervals is working perfectly for the last 18,000 rounds, so I'm reluctant to change anything at this point.

I shot a glock 34, production for uspsa and stock service for idpa. I have a pair of vogel dynamic sites on mine and I've just really shinned up the trigger so it breaks nicely. I do also have the skate tap on my glocks definitely helps my grip.

Love Talon Granulate tape . I put that S#&t on everything. I leave all my striker triggers stock - I find they wear in after a few thousand rounds and all start to feel the same . Yes - striker springs wear out. Most folks don’t ever get there but if you shoot competition, once you start getting light strikes on good factory ammo - it’s time for a new striker assembly.
@frankrietta8342 ай бұрын
Nice! Except for the springs basically what I have now! I am keeping mine GSSF legal at the moment so GPT and factory springs. I do like the grip tape! I focus all my mental effort into practice as best I can with the limitations from professional and family commitments.

I shoot a 47 in CO and the best thing I have had done was a really good stipple package with a mild undercut and I use the Glock 34 minus connector. Two secondary mods I like is the TTI slide release and the LWS grip plug ramp. I leave everything else alone.

I cut the medium backstrap just below the pin holes. I use the beavertail portion. Gives me less of a glock grip angle and I don't get slide bite. I can really get some good pressure leverage on the gun that way so it shoots really flat. I hate the ridged trigger like in a G19, I swap it with a smooth curve oem glock trigger. That is all I do

I like the Apex shoe but honestly, I don't think I shoot it any better than the OEM version. It IS more comfortable to shoot though. Add Proctor FO sights and I'm ready to go. I don't mess with the springs as I shoot a variety of primer brands and sometimes those can vary in cup hardness.

Hi Ben, really appreciate your videos! I've got a fair amount of trigger time & competition experience with 1911s, but I'm tired of the high maintenance & tinkering that's part of the 1911 experience. I want an extremely low maintenance & reliable pistol and I'm thinking of running a bone stock G19 Gen 5 in USPSA Production 15 division (I've tested the G34, but I like how the G19 points & balances better). Do you think I'll be leaving too much HF on the table with the G19 and should get a Walther PDP / Canik SFX / Shadow 2 instead?
@brianjarrell92032 ай бұрын
I shoot USPSA with a Glock in Carry Optics. It’s hard to bring myself to mod it at all because it’s going to just be a Glock no matter what you do to it. Mine is factory except for the dot, of course.

Personally for me on my G19, talon grips (granular), Agency trigger shoe, and Forward Controls Optic plate. It runs. 0 issues. Could I lighten the trigger? Sure, but the 5.5lb trigger isn't too bad once you get it broken in with dry/live fire. It's not for everyone, but it works for me and I get repeatable results.

Test your Apex trigger that it’s actually mechanically working like a factory trigger is supposed to. I bought one and its cruciform could drop with the trigger safety tab engaged. Apex customer service argued with me in the face of a video I made and really embarrassed themselves as it was later sent to someone higher up at apex who acknowledged the trigger bar wasn’t in spec and they refunded my money. I made a video talking about this in detail.

I think flat face shoes are overrated. Using overwatch's falx trigger with the curved rounded face shoe and knuckle-ing the trigger at the first joint rather than pulling with the pad makes the trigger feel lighter, and makes a stable shot even easier for me. Only other modifications is an NP3'ed OEM minus connector, apex rounded safety plunger, and a reduced strength safety plunger spring. Smooth, predictable, repeatable.
@seanoneil2772 ай бұрын
That's the deal, flat for finger pad and curve for joint crook. G47 w/ GPT, flat blade too far out. Awkward even on pad. GPT w/ Johnny Glock Vex curved shoe, perfect in joint hinge. Even okay on finger pad.
