did it throw any check engine light without a tune ?

@@heatherwhite8634 nope, no check engine light or issues. Still driving it two years later, she puts ALOT of miles on it, and it’s still great 👍. Now without a tune, you really won’t notice any power increase, but it does sound sick 🔥 lol

you dont need a manual its 2020 auto is faster rightttttt lol

I didn't see a need to buy a tap, the piping material is thin enough, that the fitting threaded itself in pretty easily. But good info for those that may prefer that route 👍

I haven’t done either yet, but now that her warranty is up, I will be getting the sct x4 and getting it custom tuned. Probably going with unleashed tuning, I believe it’s $450 or so for the tuner and tune.

@@DebtLife_Projects Nice. I have mine tuned now. 24psi boost and 93 octane. I want to change the plugs as it is close to the time to change them but idk what plugs to get for it. Was thinking NGK since thats what I have in my Yamaha R6 and Pt cruiser. but, idk. May see if there are better performance plugs out there.

When it comes to plugs, I normally asked whoever tuned it what they prefer. I’m having a friend tune mine, going to datalog and do a full, custom tune, so I’ll be using whatever he tells me he prefers

Interesting, we aren’t trying to get crazy with it, that’s what my Lightning and stealth TT is for. Just a few mods to wake it up alittle for the wife.

Yup, I always drive it in sport mode, It's better for the trans. Nice! You probably won't feel much difference, but It will look and sound alot nicer for sure!

I use sport mode all the time and change to eco or normal if the gears are binding and droning out holding low gears. Pop bang crackle woobooboo pish.... stock. Lol

I couldn't find anything else that offered the full turbo forward setup like the Injen does. But yeah, I agree the price is alittle crazy, but yolo I guess lol 😅

That’s it, just the intake. Gonna do an intercooler/pipes, blow off valve, exhaust, and tune down the road. But it’ll be a while, working on my Lightning at the moment

I would probably at least do like a k&n drop in filter. Full intake, idk. Boosted cars benefit the most from it, can regular cars benefit too, sure. Up to you really 🤷‍♂️ I mod everything I own, so I’m a bad person to ask lol 😆

Small ratchet, extension, and skinny arms I guess lol. I don't remember it being too bad to get to once everything is out of the way. Could always try from the bottom of your having trouble

No, you won’t gain anything until it’s tuned. Ford has what’s called torque targeting strategy from the factory, and what that is is basically the computer is set to keep it at a certain power level, so no matter what you do, it’ll compensate and keep it at that power level. An aftermarket tune will turn that off and you can mod and turn it up as you please.

I havnt yet, but I do plan on doing a few more little odds and ends. Plan on doing a cx racing intercooler kit, exhaust, and tune. Pretty simple and balanced, nothing crazy. Just the wife’s daily

Yes, it’ll work, just google “2017 focus st intake” and get that. Make sure the way the sensor on the intake bolts up looks the same, but you should be good

@@marcy-brooklyn161 I don't see why not 🤷‍♂️ I don't think letting a turbo get more air could ever hurt, plus then the turbo will make cool spooly noise with the intake, that's fun all on its own lol 😁

Just keep the stock intake and if anything happens put it back on. Easy peasy

Warranties are overrated as they will usually try to get out of fixing it anyways. I didn't do things based on warranty my 16 fiesta st was tunes at 2800 miles 2 months after I bought. Nothing ever happened to it I'm now modded fbo x37 hybrid tuned on e30 making about 280/280 to the wheels out of the 1.6 and still has similar response to stock down low its super fun to drive and is pretty quick for what it is being its only 2600 lbs lol. Mod the thing and don't look back just take care of it and make sure you do regular oil changes every 5k with good quality synthetic oil and use good 93 top teir gas if not e30. My wife just got a 1.6 eb escape and I have a Livernois tuner I used to have on my st I since switched to an access port because I needed a custom tune via remote tuning Livernois didn't offer. I think we can pay 150 bucks and have the escape tuned with the same tuner. I'm just gonna go tyne and high flow filter and call it just something to pep it up make it more fun for her better mpg etc.

BTW my st has 106k now and it's paid for only thing I had to do outside of routine maintenence was replace wideband 02 sensor around 70k. Still on original clutch making over 50%more power than stock and I put it through its paces plenty. Thing is I know how to drive and don't destroy my clutch like some do lol. And yes i drive it hard and no lift etc. These things are pretty reliable if taken care of.
