TiG welded, thank you. I see too many guys using a MiG on bodywork. Very neat job, limited cuts and limited screwing around.

This is a turret top which basically drops straight down. The "Z" cut was for locating purposes, it is easier than dealing with a long continuous cut, plus it makes it stronger where as a long cut would be harder to keep in place. The same cut is used in stretching a roof. A "Z" cut is used so that there is continuous contact between the front and the back halves of the roof rather than just cutting it straight across which would be floppy and lose "location" from one half to the other.
