For grins you might want to look at "Paul Shinn, the Model A Guy's" video on rebuilding the distributor. He talks about replacing the one piece distributor shaft with two pieces that are drilled so the bushings in distributor can get lube oil. Paul says the lubing of the distributor is often overlooked. I bought a so called rebuilt distributor off of ePay. Found the cavity for oil where the oiler is plugged with old hardened oil and crud. All in good time I suppose. Have enjoyed your videos thus far. Paul also has other videos such as starting the Model A. Your engine running sounded like engine was starving for fuel.

Using 12 volts will sometimes break the spring. Also not waiting for motor to quit turning before re engaging starter.
