I have been on the Waverley in the UK. Great engine room. Could have watched that all day.

How do you make these boats? They are so detailed
@robsmodelpaddlesteamers4 ай бұрын
Thanks, they all start off with lots of research and finding usable photos to get details and accuracy. The boat itself is easy enough using ply, hardwood, and redgum. It's all the little details that I print that bring them to life. Hope to do future videos on how they are actually built.

What is the scale you use eg. what is the overall length of your Canberra model .would a model of this vessel be available for a presentation a Murray River ship yard?
@robsmodelpaddlesteamers10 ай бұрын
Scale I use is 15mm to the foot, which works out to be about 1:20. My canberra model is about 1200mm long. She will be on display at Echuca for approx 6 months from the end of this month and as far as I know she is the only model in the Canberra's original configuration. Would love to see other models of her like this.

Another excellent model Rob and watching this video has inspired me to get back into building my first paddle wheeler. PS Adelaide at 1:24 Scale from 'Float a boat' plans. Did you create your own stl files for the Engine or is there a place where they can be downloaded?? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I'm glad it has inspired you. Searching the Web, I was unable to find a suitable engine and boiler, so I had to design my own
@jandoerlidoe34123 жыл бұрын
What material is the steam engine made off ? I understand the boiler is mode out a pvc pipe, but the engine itself ? does the electric motor also drive this engine, or is it just sitting still when the boat sails ? Anyway very nice detailed model that looks great....music is nice too....

Thank you,The engine is just PLA from my 3d printer so it is static, it's not really seen while the boat is moving so not a great need to have it run however I am expermenting with materials to make one run
