I always wanted to build something like one of these, but I have such a small area to launch that it would not be a good idea to do that in such a small space. Sorry you lost a bird, I think this happens more often than we'd like to admit. best of luck, and thanks for a great vid! P.S.: love the strike fighter!

I think the Strike Fighter resembles something closer to the Vipers in the old BattleStar Galactica. Nice upload. I like to see different stuff fly. I have an unbuilt Estes Heli-Roc in a box somewhere. I'll have to try it sometime soon.

I have the Estes Mini-A-Heli due to be delivered tomorrow. I don't have a large launch area, so I may not own it long! These were nice launches, as always in this hobby, recovery is another matter :D

Sorry to hear about the High Rotor 1. Hopefully it will turn up and they’ll give you a call. But you ended on a great not with the Strike Fighter landing! Congrats on that!

Loosing that High Rotor was a total blunder in my part. I should've went with a A or a B motor. That C hung it way up in the sky

Yeah it was nice. I totally underestimated it's performance in that small field. I know now lol.

In the late 70s I remember spending a week building the D powered version of the Estes X wing only to launch it the first time and have it go up about 100 feet then arc over and fly horizonal for the remainder of its flight. Never saw it again. I was so pissed off. I never figured out what happened.

Nice launches Keith. Unfortunate that you lost the QCR High Rotor 1. I was thinking when the Estes one almost went off the field that you were going to either angle the launch rod or put a smaller engine in for the High Rotor. Sticking a landing like that is rarer than losing or crashing rockets. Way to go!!

I angled the rod for the QCR. But a total blunder using a C motor.

Ah, hate that you lost that great rocket. Even that first one on an A mini engine hung in the air forever. Wow. I need to build one of those. A friend of mine decades ago had the original Estes Gyroc. That thing was fun to watch in flight. Hope you get that QSC back eventually without damage. And yes, we all should put our phone numbers on kits, but where? On the model itself, on a piece of paper or plastic at the bottom of the nose cone? Where do you recommend and how? Thanks.

Man, I know it’s part of the hobby, but it SUCKS losing rockets! 😭 Those roto-rockets have always mystified me. I appreciate the up close look at one!

Yeah. It was a nice one. They're pretty good. But get lots of hang time.
