Hi everyone! Hope you're all safe and well out there. Today we're going to look at using the cut tool to create a complex cut out box shape in Fusion 360! :)

Dang. Wouldn't have thought about making the sketch from the top so that the history timeline would update dynamically. Good idea.

I use midplane, the with your base click on the left side of the base than right side of the base. After that, you can adjust the size of pulling on the plane to make it bigger than the model. Cheers for the tutorials :)

Thanks Justin for the very nice tutorials. For getting a midpoint of a rectangle, I find it easier to just draw a diagonal and snap a point to its midpoint.

I watch a lot of your videos on Fusion 360 to learn how to model things for my woodworking projects that I build as well as other things I like to build for our home. I recently saw a video of a build Id like to do with a pool and was trying to get an idea by designing the deck around our current pool but can’t figure out how to get the circle to cut out of the deck boards once extruded. So I start with a sketch of the overall size of the deck with one board and then make a rectangular pattern for the rest of the deck boards. Then make another sketch of the round pool on top of the face of those boards and it gets really weird when I try to cut out the circle. Wanted to see if you could give me some advice, since I’ve gotten extremely frustrated as everything I try doesn’t work. I know Im not doing something right but can’t figure it out. I can't post any screen shots but it only cuts a half moon out of the board.

How would you hollow text/words I no how to shell them but what I want to learn to do is shell them for 3d printing to put lights inside but I want to add the same word as a top but need to no how to put some sort of edges inside the words to hold a top that would be printed in clear
