What did I get wrong?

Bro this one time I was visiting family in Michigan, and my family got an Air bnb in some random location. The person who owned the house had a collection of records. On the last day we were there, my cousin and I were going through the records. My cousin says “modern baseball?” I was taken aback cause that did not fit in with the other records. The sleeve had a hand written note on a paper towel from MODERN BASEBALL. Thanking the owner for letting them stay there and then gave the owner the record as a gift.

Adrienne Gold who sang the female vocals in "I think you're in profile picture once" also sang in The Front Bottoms' song "Flashlight" (according to Adrienne's Genius page). Also, BTFL is the name of Bren's music project (Dude the love of your life has some serious issues). It's also their initials.

Roy Cooke is an author and poker pro so im guessing the song cooke was named after him. Theres also a few poker references in the song like 'maybe its all in the cards' and 'ive got a pretty good hand id say' so it makes perfect sense

Just to let you know, much of the content on the iceberg has much more depth into the entries, such as BrenBrenn being Brenden's tumblr, which contains so much more information and gives much insight into Mobo and Bren in general, such as Infinite and Bren's letter to Erin, and other things To the viewers, I really recommend doing some research, you'll find so much about Mobo you thought you didn't know before! as much as i love modern baseball and any content about them is good, i still wish that you would have done the research and that we could find out more in one place and that we wouldn't have to look for some of these things ourselves.

I'm actually very surprised you don't know about The Quark. They just have a cover of that song (originally by the Hard Girls) released on "Asian Man Music for Asian Man People Vol 2" which is a compilation album by Asian Man Records which idk why they're on but the song really good. It also features Ian on vocals which I believe is the only time he's ever sung for a studio recorded MOBO song.

I really enjoyed the deep dive into this! There are a bunch of pieces that I did not know about, which also helped make some connections. You should definitely invest into a phone mount for the car! It was quite hard to watch any part of the video with you in it due to the shakiness, motion sickness is no joke.

Loved every bit of this! Only critique would be to try to keep the face cam still. Maybe with a mount or something. Too much movement there but otherwise you killed it!

Its strange how I came to listen to BTFL first and it was the thing that took me to Mobo I used to be addicted to cute girls making ukulele covers (it was a sad part of my life) and one day I saw Emma noodle making a cover of "How to tell a girl I want to kiss her" (and just by the name you can see its some Brendan gold) I felt in love with everything but then I got curious because in the cover was written "modern baseball"

The “permanent hiatus” is more accurate than a lot of people think. I think a lot of people don’t realize that Jake and Ian are not friends with Bren anymore. I forget the name of the podcast, but they had Jake on, and he was very kind and respectful, but didn’t really have anything pleasant to say about Bren and referred to their friendship in the past tense. He said a couple times “when Bren and I were friends.” I’m also fairly certain the band was really not happy with Bren when they had to cancel that last tour. I think that was the last straw, and why they decided to end the band. Idk, people can always patch things up I guess, but Bren seems like a very tortured individual mentally, and my heart breaks for them. That said, I’ve heard from a few people that Bren doesn’t do themselves any favors by not taking the appropriate steps to address their mental health and substance abuse problems, and that’s what led to the end of the band. I obviously wasn’t in the band, so don’t take this for gospel, but it seems like legitimate information given what is public information directly from Jake. He’s kind of said as much, just not as direct.

Old video, probably missed the relevant time to comment but oh well! I was at the MoBo Killers cover set! It was during Fest 14 in Gainesville on Halloween. There’s a full video of it on KZfaq, I’m pretty sure I was standing next to the guy filming it. Greg and Tom from The Menzingers and Bobby from Captain, We’re Sinking made guest appearances, a bunch of people were in costume, it was one of my favorite sets I’ve seen. I will note that in hindsight at both that show and their regular set Bren seemed a bit quiet and distant, they barely sang or talk during the Killers set and seemed off on their main set. This was before Holy Ghost came out, so they were probably at their worst mentally. I saw they perform solo after the band broke up, they seemed to be a lot happier, but that was almost 5 years ago. Miss this band a lot, SBD is great but I would love if MoBo came back

MoBo rap is the Chemistry Rap off of their other soundcloud account (Which also has an alternately named Home and I think a few more songs with different names)
