This is one of my favorite songs of yalls, my other go-to is actually " Shivers Rerecorded " that song speaks to me on a fundamental level I can't explain but honestly pretty much every song of yours does. I truly mean that and this is coming from a 34-year old that's played and wrote music most of their life as well. And, there are only a handful of artists who have made art that has moved me the way yours does. I love to make up lyrics and sing to this song in the car all the time. I want to write this comment in hopes you see this and know that you inspired me to get an 8 string after playing 20 years as a 6 string guitarist. I mean honestly I seriously love your music, it's beautiful, the way you write and can make something complex and make look/sound so easy while at the same time also taking a more simple progression and presenting it in your own personal way highlighting the beauty of a more simple melody. Your sound is incredibly unique and after about 5 years of not picking up my guitar myself due to being diagnosed with things leaving me bedridden and then my father passing away in 2018, you and your music alone were the driving force that ignited the flame of writing music again in myself. I want to thank you for that. I' have 2 auto-immune diseases and can't work anymore for the past 7 years which killed my career as a tattoo artist literally a few months after I had finished my year-long apprenticeship when I was 25... Since I have nearly zero disposable income especially after getting my 8 string last year, I do everything else I can to support your music. I mention you to every musician I talk to in person or online when we're mentioning our favorite music and or what inspires us to write and play...As well I take the time and share your videos and music on FB fairly often trying to get more people to hear this incredible art you put out. So again, I hope you see this and know that across the sea in the middle of nowhere in the South of the USA you've sincerely had and continue to have a drastically positive impact on someone's life. PS: For the life of me I can't figure out what tuning this is in lol I think I have it and then realize i'm way off over and over haha I realllllly need to invest in some sort of computer interface because I have a decent guitar now but my old amp that was pretty solid got stolen about 10 years ago and the one I have now kinda blows for the low end on an 8 string sadly :/ :p

Aye, Tosin pretty much created this technique - and if I'm wrong about that and he didn't he took it from complete obscurity to only SOMEWHAT obscure, as us Prog-Djent fans are a tiny minority. In any case, it's super unique and hard to do, super happy to see MDB doing it - I've lost the connection with AAL, they're less metal and more jazz these days. MDB gets better with every release, while AAL gets more boring.

@@newmanicdevices6837 I think the first one to develop that technique was Victor Wooten (Jazz Bassist). Evan Brewer, who used to play bass in Reflux with Tosin, picked that technique from Wooten, and Tosin thought of using it on guitar.

I respectfully disagree.... like a lot. Just my opinion, but I'd most likely stop listening if vocals were added. Just like I stopped listening to Intervals when vocals were added. The music speaks for itself. But at the end of the day, it's not up to me....
