ERIC, I have some advise. After 40+ years a carpenter, 4 knee surgeries, & a massive case of arthritis pain in my late 60s, I wish I had thought more about my knees when I was younger. I highly recommend starting now while you have a chance to be proactive. Get some knee pads. You guys wear safety glasses, respirators, & hearing protection, why not protect your knees? The most damage is done by not using them & bending your leg at the knee more than 90 degrees. I know the strap on ones are a pain & but they make them now than just slip on or fit in the knee pockets on some work pants. I have no cartilage left under my kneecaps now. I cannot even kneel down now without big time pain & a couple days to recover.

I think they do have knees pads inside the pants already. In one video Jamie showed that the pants had knee pads already installed.

Wish I had used knee pads also. My job when I was working was to lay flooring down. All kinds. I now have a flat spot and my knee cap has been pushed out of wack. The only way to correct of course is surgery. But am retired now and cannot get on my knees anymore, too painful.

Your comment about dust on the roof reminded me of when we were building my parents home in 79. We were trimming the plywood on the gable end of a 5/12 roof and dad was sitting on the roof. He got into the sawdust and started to slide down. My brother in Law reached out with a nailer and nailed his overalls to the deck. :)

These videos are really great for stress relief purposes. It's chill, cinematic, some banter here and there (also some oopsies) for chuckles, and as a guy with no knowledge about house building it also gives an feeling of learning something (not to say I'd be well equipped to go build my own house). I consume a lot of KZfaq content but nothing quite eases the mind of mine like these do.

The president of the country where I live stopped working because he lost a single finger on his hand! And taking advantage of this accident, he joined a party that during its existence, committed scandals successively; not to mention cases of corruption. This party even contaminated the supreme court where it defends its actions and daydreams, not to mention that it freed him from jail and canceled the processes that had already condemned him! If you have any doubts, just do some research! Forgive me for venting my indignation at what is happening in Brazil! I found this episode really interesting, it was the explanations of the various operations that were taking place, like cable bullet system, which has been really well thought out, the use of timber on the overhang, the roofing with the linear coefficient of thermal expansion, the 1" difference and Jamie's water runoff on the roof. Thanks Susan! I will have a house warming inviting my friends and family once I get in and situated- maybe mid- spring to early summer. If only I could raise money for the hardwood character maple and tile floors I really really want 😂But I did find a very realistic vinyl plank flooring in a rustic oak that will work! So grateful to PBB and the sponsors for taking my home far beyond anything I ever imagined ~
