Pro tip, when chalking a bunch of lines like that, tie the ends of two chalk lines together, and have each person hold their respective chalk line. Have one person reel theirs out, snap the line, both move to where the new line needs snapped, when the person who reeled out.. reels in their line they'll pull the other persons chalk line out. Infinite chalk line and saves half the time!

I discovered your channel over my winter break and absolutely LOVE your attention to detail, workmanship, and most of all the camaraderie of your crew. Here’s a crazy suggestion for an enhancement for your jobsite. You might consider purchasing a small (used) teardrop trailer for your lunch breaks. You could put your microwave, small fridge, 2-burner stove, utensils, sink, and cabinets for your hot sauce collection 🥵etc. in the back kitchen area. You could then gut the interior and use it store your coolers, chairs, folding table, and anything else you want to keep dry. Then It would all be organized in one clean location. Then you could task Jason with hauling it to and from the worksite each day. Just plug it into your shore power and you’re good to go. Keep up the good work guys!

Probably overkill, but Matt Risinger would have first put down vertical slats for water drainage and air flow and horizontal slats on top of those to support the metal panels. He has also placed the slats diagonally as a comprimise...gives you both support for sheet metal and drainage and air flow.

Stretching Vinyl or PVC screen when it's that cold just means it will be saggy and rippled when it warms up and the material stretches and expands. I would have strongly suggested installing the frame pieces now but waiting to add the screens until spring.

I replaced the screens on our deck because the wind ripped the previous screens in each spot they were stapled. Instead of track we had 2x4 cedar boards around the perimeter of each opening. I simply ripped a single groove around the face of the 2x4s with my table saw blade (they had to come off to go on the table saw). I was able to stretch screen by myself because window spline fit perfectly in the grooves. I capped the grooves with cedar trim and they have held great for years.

if the gun is not hitting the nails into the boards. try greasing the nails guns with oil and then check the air pressure because the air compressor might not keep up as much .. I use to build custom shipping container crates.. sometimes the nails would do that to the decks 2x10 and 2x12 deck boards...

You guys make Thursday and Sunday two of my favorite days! Eric, you do have some mad skills in your video editing as well as building, but it’s got to be a bit hard to have your smarty pants little brother being the details oriented part of the team. But man, Jaime is so good at the details, and having built a few homes myself (in Colorado, with my brother), I greatly appreciate the details. Jaime’s attention to detail around flashing and hanging doors is a gift to all of the team, but like I said, you all have some great skills that make the team terrific as a whole. Thanks again for making 2023 better, and Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all.

Gonna regret doing that screen from the inside… I did that at my last house and it was a constant battle with leaves and pine needles getting stuck between the screen and the mounting ledger. At our new house I built last year, I bit the bullet and put the screens on the outside. I built a crazy sketch scaffolding system/platform/catwalk and actually screwed my step ladder down to the platform so it wouldn’t move😂🤣😂. Happy to report that this fall, I have had ZERO debris issues. I get lots of those tulip poplar helicopter things here around this time of year.
