Hello to all the people around the world. My name is Jan and I am Arlos Wife. First to Eric WOW!! There are hardly words for how Arlo and I feel. The out pouring of love and appreciation is overwhelming. We will carry all these comments with us for the rest of our lives. To say Thank You doesn’t express how we feel. (amazed, Overwhelmed,Grateful, Blessed) To the Perkins Crew you have been fun and kind and we appreciate all of you. For all the donation well this has changed our future. We had plan to move into an unfinished house ( we were fine with that because as you carpenters know personal projects always get put on the back burner) Now we will finish our new house and than move in 👏👏. I could go on and on. Just know that we are more thankful than any words could say. ❤

So, like most everyone else I got teary about the title and teared up a few times while watching. I have some final thank yous: Arlo, thank you for speaking up to Erik, Jamie and the crew when it was queried what the next build after the duplex series should be. So grateful to you for stating my need. Grateful for our almost 5 decades of friendship. I know I’ll see you and Jan around but still want to say best to you on your retirement- so well deserved! And, Happy Birthday! @PerkinsBuilderBrothers and crew, thank you for my well crafted and beautiful home. Fiona, Kiki and I are certainly enjoying it. I missed being able to give you final hugs so hope to see you out and about! We're closing in on the date (I regrettably forgot) of Arlo's birthday, and since he threatened to retire after this job this might be my last chance to do so, I have to congratulate Arlo with his 70th.

From halfway all across the world in Kenya, its been a real pleasure and privilege watching Mr. Arlo at work. May he find peace in his retirement. Thank you Arlo.💜💜💜

Seeing the amount of people donating to the surprise go fund me brings me to tears. Happy retirement Arlo. My little family wishes you the best. My husband found you all a few years ago and gained home building knowledge from you all while also watching the essential craftsman. We're now living in our home we built together. Started in 2020 and built ourselves with money out of pocket. We moved in to our 3 bedroom/2 bath home in October. It's still not completely done but once it is we're debt free with our home. Thank you to all of you 🫶🏻

Wow! Hay is dried grass used as food for cattle, horses, etc. Straw is the dried stalks of wheat plants used for livestock bedding.

straw is the stuff that's left over after a grain crop has been harvested, while hay is grass that is cut before the grass goes to seed. Typically hay will be normal cultivars of grass with multiple species mixed in, grown specifically as food for livestock. Straw will typically be from intensive grain farming so it will generally be just one species. Straw also has less nutritional value because the plant put all the energy into the seed, while hay will still have some measure of sugar and nutrients.

Cut glass tile with a glass scoring cutter and you will get cleaner cuts. Also works on ceramic tile

Hay is a complete grass that is cut short as a food source for livestock. Straw is the shaft of grain (wheat, barley, etc.) that is left once the grain has been removed. Straw is a woody shaft that doesn't have any food value. Straw is good for bedding and ground cover, etc. Straw has also used been used to insulate structures due to it's woody shafts and being hollow. Traps air.
