I mean I liked the idea of cardboard packaging - the execution was just flawed (being resealable without a trace and damage to the cards being the obvious ones)

@@Yuzuki1337 I like the idea of more environmentally sustainable packaging, but cardboard packs aren't it. You MAY be able to get your production tolerances down to the point where the cards are more securely held (unlikely), but you will never be able to eliminate the resealing issue with rigid cardboard or cardstock, and you will always have surface damage to the face cards from the abrasion with the packaging process. Something bamboo- or hemp-based is MUCH more likely because they can be processed in such a way to have a more plastic-like feel.

I liked the idea of it, but not when it damaged cards.

I remember wrecking a draft of this set at the local shop with Battlegrace Angel. It's a crazy bomb.

I liked them too, until I tried to sell my foil Kozilek that had damage on the back from the packaging.

@@Cromulorf There were also issues with them being easily openable and resealable, much moreso than the plastic packs. Opening a sealed pack to find a bunch of junk commons was not a nice feeling, especially given how expensive these were.

At the very least, worth iterating upon.

Correct. Did a little googlin and Damage on the stack first showed up during 6th edition and then went away again in Magic 2010 (not Tenth Edition). Damage on the stack was so fun with sacrifice effects. The poster child being Mogg Fanatic, a 1/1 Goblin for R that had "Sac this: deal 1 damage to any target". You could trade with a 2/2 or block an 1/1 and dome them for 1. Great stuff.

You're right. Stack damage was taken out in M10, a fact etched into my brain by friends teaching me to play around the release of Worldwake.

why not try and build a cube? if you don't have the cards or the money/don't want to spend the money on the expensive cards just proxy them. :)

Mirrodin Bridges enter tapped so they're worse for dumping the hand like what affinity wants to do. Citadel doesn't tap for colours (and is only 4 copies rather than 20)

untapped artifact lands effectively tap for two mana with Affinity, so coming in tapped is relevant for a deck infamous for dumping their hands.
