Enjoying this series. The normal trivia gets better with a masters set. Would ask that you turn down the gain a little on the mic tho. The distortion's really weirdly present in this one.

Good to know that I'm not the only one who pronounces "Mmm-UR-DER" the same way whenever I come across that card.

There was GP Vegas 2017 when it was still GP’s. We sat across from each other in sealed deck construction (Amonkhet sealed) in the special VIP play section, along with the guy from Openboosters, who made his first on camera appearance on Alpha Investments channel that weekend. You made day 2 & got sunstroke. :(

I like how Graham's first thought with Squadron Hawk wasn't "Oh, hey! it's the Caw from Caw-Blade!"

Kamigawa is the arch, Betrayers is the shuriken, Saviors is the lantern. I know this because Kamigawa-Ravnica was my first standard set & I got relentlessly tormented by everyone at the store for choosing Kamigawa over Mirrodin. Fuck that store.

Randomly saw the video, saw Graham thought about how much I loved Bear Force One on Game Knights and enjoyed the chill time of just going through some cards in a pack. I like this kind of opening, really get to appreciate stuff like the commons.

I unquestionably enjoyed myself as always, but I would also unquestionably enjoy seeing Graham attempt to step it up in a way he cannot fathom.

Fear, intimidate, and menace are all takes on the flavor of something being so scary its hard to block, fear is probably the best flavor wise, but menace definitely plays the best.

Matt is doing amazing work with these. Also everyone else but still, deserves a shoutout!

For everyone beside Graham, for Kamigawa: Champion is the gate, Betrayers is the Shuriken and Saviors is the lantern. My way to remember is Champions guard the gate, Ninjas use shuriken (ninjas were introduced in Betrayers), Saviors light the way. Now I'm curious what symbol they're going to use for Neon Dynasty.

Iwamori of the Open Fist, a card that pictures a man with two closed fists

I feel strangely at ease at the fact that I'm with my fellow reef worms

I remember being introduced to Magic in my last year of high school (2001), I bought a blue/green precon deck from the current set, which I'm pretty sure I remember being called Apocalypse. I ended up adding an Elvish Piper to the deck, along with 4 Crash of Rhinos, and some tree top bracers to make my big boys pretty much have flying. There were other changes made but no longer remember, and only played magic for about 6 months because then I finished school and lost touch with most of the people I played with. I only really got back into Magic in 2018, seeing Elvish Piper in this pack is some nostalgia for me.

I don't play magic, I don't want to play magic, the only things I know about magic have been incidental from LRR content. I'm watching every one of these vids I love em

I think this was my first masters set that I ever drafted. It was just as I was becoming a fan of LRR and learning the ways of The Aristocrats from Cam.

I'd definitely take Elvish Piper, just because I also like taking cards I can't play. Plus, it means I can take every good rare from that point on and definitely use them all in my deck without regrets. Definitely never gonna regret it.

A song and dance number would not be a bad thing to add to the series... I am kidding of course but in all seriousness I am loving the format. You have hit the nail squarely on the head for a video style of just casually talking about cards and not putting so much hype or analysis on the cards as other mtg channels do. For TTC you do but this isnt that so it works I think.

I feel the same about the Kamigawa sets; don’t know what is what and never bothered to look it up. Only really know Glimpse of Nature because its a 4 of in my Legacy Elves deck..

I'm so glad for menace and despise intimidate. Can't Be Blocked is annoying but is usually printed to feel sorta balanced, but getting mowed over by creatures with fear and intimidate never felt good. Menace at least feels like I can do something about it while still giving the advantage to the attacker

Engagement for the engagement god!

Started off with lots of pikers. Also weirdly got M11, M12 and M13. For Urza, Gears: Urza's Saga Hammer: Urza's Legacy Flask: Urza's Destiny The gears are easy to remember as Urza's Saga, because all the broken lands come from that set (Gaea's Cradle, Tolarian Academy) as it's the fall set where rare lands usually reside. For Legacy, the hammer kind of looks like an L so that's how I remember it. Process of elimination for the last one.

2:05 To clarify, Fear specified black creatures, but was not exclusively ON black creatures. There were a few outside of black that had fear - Dust Elemental, for example. 4:20 Of course, now we get it on a 4/4 Trample for the same cost. Power Creep!

With elvish piper, you can take cards like Street Wraith! If your piper gets killed, just cycle it away.

I would probably loose the draft, but I would take Elvish Piper. I like Elves and I love the artwork on that card.

The only reason I knew that the Nantuko was from Onslaught is because that's when the Tarkiran fetchlands were first printed and Iwamori I remember is Betrayers of Kamigawa because it's the shuriken and shurikens "look evil"

All this talk of MORDOR..er, MURDER, it's like "I Killed Pom Pom" up in here.

Imagine how badly you could ranch an opponent if you cast Iwamori, hold priority, & Thoughtseize though! This is the first time a dumb combo has made me actually miss playing MtG (and the fact that it involves playing Green is even more hilarious).
