Really like that. I have a Helinox camping cot and foam pad that's comfortable. The cot sits less than 7" high so at 6'2" my feet would fit under that table. I have a Teton cot also that sits high enough to slide plastic bins under but it wouldn't work with that table. Always seems a compromise needed in a small space. Planning on getting a Mooncamper topper on an 8' pickup bed. But tempted to go for a Toyota Sienna hybrid. I have a couple of large duffels that hold my clothes. Could set them on the table out of the way. Had no idea a table like that would fit so well. Thanks!

And the best part for me when I was traveling in my Caravan in the 90's was that it was just a mini van. Easy to drive, easy to park, reasonable on fuel and blended in anywhere. The newer nice big Sprinter vans would be heavenly, but not the same

Thanks for watching! I couldn’t agree more, on every point you made. My sentiment exactly. I’ve talked about them all in detail in past videos. I often look at bigger vans but none of them give me quite what I’m looking for. One of the biggest reasons I like this van is because it’s non detectable, no matter where I’m parked. There’s a safely in that. The other thing is that it’s dual purpose, it’s my family van and my camper van. Thanks for taking the time to comment! Have a fantastic day! 😃🙌🏼💯

@@ModernDayPilgrim Bless you, yes a positive mind set is very important, car camping has really helped with juggling my mental health and well-being. Losing Mom and evil people that have done everything in their power, these are so called family to drag me down 2023, it has been tough without Mom, but I persevere, and now have cut the bad out before 2024. Car camping and the outdoors have kept me sane. God has kept me sane and my inner circle that are loving supporters. I love the outdoors and nature, being a City girl, love to get away from it all. My set up, Yes I have a Power Station. 2 in fact, Jackery 240e, kind of wished I never purchased it, as needed more power and fast charging, but at the time thought that was the one I needed. So hence to date I have 2nd one that is a cheapy with 600w power. I have portable solar panels if I need them. A memory foam mattress cut to size to have a comfortable sleep in my vehicle, that has been the biggest game changer and God send instead of mats that left me sore and in pain. I have Solar Lights and mini ones with batteries, a fan with USB and light capacity, car tray. Collapsible toilet and bin. Storage clothes in pillow case, to decorate my bed. Collapsible chair and table to chill or cook outside, 5 litre gallons of water kept at front with soft storage and a mini cooler, a high pitched hand held safety alarm, and identity spray against potential harm. I Iove I can adapt my set up to, changed some storage things around for this year. I travel around work on the weekends and use any hols that I get to my advantage to get out and about. I camp all year round, but only now starting back in Feb again as have been unwell with bronchitis for 5 weeks. But ready to go when fully recovered. Just need to clean out my car. I do carry a small waterproof tent now for chilling purposes if I am somewhere I can put it up, not to sleep in, just read a book and stretch out in the day time. My biggest trip was South West Wales in August 6 days, loved it. Was so content, sun and beach on door step, 5 hour drive to get there, but was worth it. I love the spirit of Car Camping and flexibility. Stay blessed and safe. 🙂🤗🙏🏿

@@ModernDayPilgrim Thanks for the invite to see your Camp Kitchen setup. Differently will view it. Like you, I do not cook in my Conversion Van with any fuel driven stoves. I'm considering a small Convection stove (1 burner) for use with a Portable Power Supply. Otherwise it's a 12V cooking setup of Steamer and a RoadPro Warmer Oven for rainy days/nights.

Have you considered a tiny sand battery for heat? Decorative milk can, 12 volt immersion heater, Coleman 2 Watt solar panel, and a UBS powered fan. Probably enough heat to cook your morning eggs. Efficient and cheap. Will need to protect the bottom of the milk can from singing the carpet. You will figure it out. I used a small one for the kitchen and have even done canned biscuits on the top of it. When the days are warmer I sometimes don't patch it in till late in the afternoon. I have a BuckWarner pot belly stove set up as a sand battery that keeps my 14' x 20' living room really toasty even on 20° days. And a sand battery will save beaucoup bucks on gas bottles. Whole set up for under $75 Happy trails 💕

I have a Ford Escape I enjoy car camping in! I have a Bluetti that runs my refrigerator, lights, fan and I’m fortunate the car also has a built-in inverter 110 plug that I plug my HotLogic in to warm up my food while I’m driving. (It gets hot enough to cook meat, but I mainly use it just to warm up stuff.) I use butane or campfire to cook otherwise so I don’t run my car battery down. You said you had a heater? What kind? I started camping a few years ago, because my youngest son grew out of tent camping with me. @ModernDayPilgrim
@ModernDayPilgrim 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! And this set up, I tie the front end of the bed underneath my seat with a bungee cord but you have to make sure it’s very tight. At the end of the bed, I tie the bar to the anchor in the back of the wall using para cord. I also tied the table at the back to the same anchors in the wall. This is a 2019 Dodge grand Caravan, on the side of each wall they have metal anchor loops. Traditionally, they are used to attach those nets that go from side to side, if you want to make sure your groceries aren’t gonna fly all over the place. Hope this helps! Have a fantastic day! And p.s. you can do it! Simple setios are the best. No fuss. 😃🙌🏼💯

Smart setup and point of view. What is your heat source?
@ModernDayPilgrim
@ModernDayPilgrim 7 ай бұрын
I use a little buddy, Mr. heater, along with a small USB charged fan to circulate the heat around my van. I don’t keep the heat around all night though. Basically heat up the van before I go to bed get in my bed comfortably and sleep all night without the heater. I turn it back on when I wake up just to heat the van up. Hope this helps! Have a fantastic day! Thanks for watching!💯🙌🏼😃

How tall are you how much room is there from the back of the driver's seat to your cool table?
@ModernDayPilgrim

Thanks for watching! I am 5‘2“. The cot is 69 inches long. They do make them longer obviously, and it would definitely fit if the table was raised up a little bit. I actually just purchased a similar table to that one, it is 40 inches long, and, 18 inches wide I think. It allows for more space in the back of the van using that smaller table. I just put a video up about that! Check it out in my playlist, “Van Camping In Michigan.” That littler table, I mentioned would really work out well with a longer cot. Thanks for taking the time to comment! Hope this helps. Have a fantastic evening! 💯😃🙌🏼

What size power inverter are you using ? I am considering doing this for a year or 2 , me and my puppy(small breed dog

Thanks for watching! My newest one is a Pecron E600 LFP and it has a 1200 pure sine wave inverter. I can run my single cup Keurig with it. That’s my go to now. I also have a BLUETTI AC50s and that’s a 300w. My fridge is powered by the Pecron so when I use the keurig, I have to unplug the fridge while I use it, which is not a problem, then plug it in when I’m done. Hope this helps! Have a fantastic day! 🙌🏼😃💯

Hi again lol so again i am sleeping in a mini s cooper clubman and was wondering about bedding i tried to get air mattresses but everyone of them were way to big fir the back looks like maybe 52 inches im 5 foot and cannot stretch out in back please any suggestions my back of knees hurt so bad from sleeping in my front seat
@ModernDayPilgrim
@ModernDayPilgrim 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I would suggest getting a custom cut foam mattress cut for the size of your vehicle. You could get a couple of them cut. They make a 4 inch firm one and a 3 inch semi firm, which is the one I use on my cot that would be a total of 7 inches and the firm one would definitely help with any unevenness and bumps in your sleeping area. I believe the link to that company is in the description. I’ll make sure. Hope this helps! Let me know! Have a fantastic day!🙌🏼😃💯 www.foambymail.com/

Can a 6'8 person sleep in a dodge grand caravan? i want to buy a van soon and i want to make my build like yours, its very nice the way you have everything. I cant find anywhere on the internet how many feet it is from the back of the driver seat chair to the back car door when closed. Is there any chance, you could use a measuring tape and let me know? BTW, love your content!
@ModernDayPilgrim
@ModernDayPilgrim 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Heck yeah! 72 inch cot fits in there with room to spare! My particular cut is only 69 inches long, but a 72 inch cat fits in their fine, but I will measure it for you tomorrow. I would also say that, since you are so tall, and your seat would be back quite a bit, you would want to have your cot on the passenger side of the van so the seat would be able to go up more and give you more space with the length. Have a fantastic evening!🙌🏼😃💯

Now that I’m thinking about it, I believe you can fit an 8’ x 4’ piece of plywood in the back of these vans. So I’m betting yes, but I will definitely measure it tomorrow.

@evolvingsigma Good Morning! Ok, from the passenger side with the seat pushed up flush with the sliding door Pillar, there is 86 inches easy. So from the back of the passenger seat pushed up to the pillar you will have plenty of room to build a platform bed or whatever you choose. I can only speak to this van a 2019 Dodge grand Caravan. 🙌🏼💯😃 Have a fantastic day!

What happened to your sideways bed,? Didn't work?
@ModernDayPilgrim
@ModernDayPilgrim 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I still use it! I had this bed, already set up in my van this way, because I had recently made that video about having a tent over your cot, and instead of pulling everything out and putting in the bed sideways, I just left it the way it was and took off on a road trip, Simple as that! I was only gonna be gone a couple days two or three, and I was not worried about space. Just decided to leave it the way it was. Anyhow, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Have a fabulous new year!😃🙌🏼💯🎉
