The AAD has engaged high profile polar architect Hugh Broughton and planning consultants WSP Australia to work with us and the Antarctic community to develop a master plan for Davis research station.
The master plan aims to address the challenges of living and working in Antarctica so we can enable our scientists to focus on answering questions of global significance.

Having worked there for a year 1984 I'm not sure that more money needs to be wasted by pulling down what has only recently been built. In case someone failed Biology 101 humans need water. Guess how we collected enough snow to melt into that water? Buildings that don't allow snow drifts in the lee of buildings won't help!

I just watched a documentary on Free to air T.V. Australian Researchers WHY Did you Dredge the Bottom of The Antarctic Ocean? I am IN NO WAY A GREENIE OR GRETA THUNDERBURG TWIT, But to do this was Really Unfathomable to me. You had the most beautiful Footage from the camera's, Why do this? Research of these creatures that live in the depths of the dark Ocean? Why? I Will say the footage was Amazing, but please just film don't destroy. Was there anything New found? Kindest Thoughts from the State of Victoria in Australia.

Why are we doing research there ? Why can’t we build facilities in remote areas within Australia ? Is this an occupation of land for the future ? Does anyone really know why so much money is used in this venture. I see people living in parks here due to housing shortages, drug abuse, domestic issues etc. I feel we’ve lost our human compass
