Johnny Gill is singing with them..he went on to form LSG with Keith Sweat (be still my heart) and Gerald Levert..and Gerald was the son of Eddie Levert of the O'Jays.

Oh wow this takes me back! Dang! Funny story... I used to know every single dance move in this video. I love this! So funny you said that MRM. Life was so simple back then. 😁💕🕺🏼💃🏼

I probably know ALL of their songs and yes, I could do most of those dance moves. It had a great beat! Dancing is some of the Best exercise you can get. I use to put powder on the wooden floor..just to moonwalk..hahahaha

In the early nineties in highschool I had the New Edition tape I used to bump in my 1991 Chevy S-10 slammed on Camaro rims with two 15 inch Rockford Fosgates , I thought I was Mr Badass. I also used to bump LL Cool J, Depeche Mode, Beastie Boyz, Metallica, Megadeth, DJ Quick, NWA, nothing but good times! 🤘 🎛🎧

Wow, memories here! Saw NE with Johnny Gill and Al B Sure in Louisville in the EARLY 90s. My buddy and I may have been the only white guys in the place but the everyone was cool and it was a great show. Good times!

When this came out, contrary to most kids my age (at the time) I liked the "boy bands." It hearkens back to the days of vocalist groups like; The Drifters, The Platters, The Four Tops, The Jackson Five, The Commodores, and a whole slew of others. Beyonce's music video "Love on Top" was inspired by this video Sampled by Kidz In The Hall on "Whattup Wit Me". Sampled by Trick Daddy on "Ain't a Thug" Sampled by Sevyn Streeter on "Fallen" Sampled by Wale on "The Girls In Houston" Sampled by Kehlani on "In My Feelings"

It was like the summer of 88 and I was 8y/o going to the 4th grade watching this on BET's Video Soul and Video Vibrations, and Video LP.
@ericq90494 жыл бұрын
I liked watching as you became a believer in the talent you were witnessing. Yeah, the moves might be considered corny now, but NE bridged the gap between the Motown stars of the 60s & 70s and today's big production artists.

Damn! Brings me back.. i love seeing not only Johnny & Ralph, but the future Bel Biv Devoe :-), sooo cool. Never noticed before but are they wearing STIRRUP pants?!! Holy fuck lol... They all had careers after this & talented as hell. Beyonce’s video “Love on Top” was inspired by this. The boys are sooo good ! Jam & Lewis just were on a roll forever with these songs ..(& Miss Jackson of course!) Do Janet Jackson!!! My fave from her is Alright, but videos are all good.. pleasure principle, rhythm nation. OR, really like 80’s- Huey Lewis & News.. fun songs..

This is a very "Educational" Video for you to watch. The dynamics had changed. Bobby Brown was no longer in The Group and he was replaced by Johnny Gill. What their "Manager" said was so "Right On". When You're Out of The Public Eye for a long time it's "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind". Also they know that as good and as talented they are they have to give 150% while The "White Boys" give only 100%. To this Day no White Boy Band can honestly say they have the Same Stage Presence. In The UK They Create Boy Bands/Girl Groups like assembly lines. If it were up to me I'd make them look at the "Old School" Videos and say "You Guys Think You're Bad!, Look At These Guys, Can You Hold A Candle To Them!"

I will be the first to admit that I loved New Edition. Songs with great beats that you couldn't help moving to. But I will also be the first to say that this is easily one of the worst music videos..... EVER! Hope the director and choreographer got their walking papers. 😏
