He just uses swear words as filler words, as does Chris. For all the talk about self improvement and discipline, apparently it doesn’t apply to their public speaking skills. Using the same swear words over and over is the same thing as saying “um” and “uh” when you can’t think of what to say. These people should hold themselves to a higher standard if they are going to be professional public speakers. At least try to make up some new swear words or find better ways to describe intense and frustrating events. I am underwhelmed by their lack of discipline.

@@paulg2059I absolutely agree. I couldn't even finish this video. I wonder if he realizes speaking like this lowers his credibility with some people. It comes across so lowbrow. 100% agree. The people who stick to the gym for years and years on end are not those who need to rely on motivation or dedication, it’s those who just simply love working out.

It’s one of those things that the more you do it, the more fulfilling it becomes. I get insane amounts of pleasure and satisfaction while working out, but that’s because I’m in good condition. If don’t go to the gym for a week or two because of vacation or something, the idea of working out sounds horrible, and it’s mostly hard and unpleasant when I’m starting back up
@M-su4mh
@M-su4mh 5 ай бұрын
I agree to an extent. I love working out and have been consistently for about 9 years, but there are times where I've had to practice discipline to go because there are those periods where I don't feel like dialing in my diet and training because I get burnt out. It takes a lot of work and can be a mental battle if you're serious about making progress.

It certainly does take that extra motivation. As a personal trainer, when I was single it was so easy guaranteeing 5-6 days a week. Then life got in the way (school, kids, marriage, injuries) and it took me reaching my highest weight ever of 195 to be absolutely disappointed with what I let my body get to and find solutions to all those excuses. Now I have that "addiction" feeling again and can't imagine stopping even with all the new barriers to exercise.

What works for me is thinking about my future self, a guy who is more healthy, in better shape, who has more energy. The version i am working on to become. That idea makes me disciplined and go to the damn gym even when i have 0 motivation. Motivation isn't always available. I take the addiction recovery approach: I am not in control, and even though I don't want to exercise and have thoughts telling me to quit, I listen to those negative thoughts, don't hide from them, but then trust in my higher power, in this case, the gym lol. My thoughts are, unless you are training for something in particular, a show or some sporting event, forget about numbers and what is optimal, treat the gym like a playground. Once you incorporate a sense of fun into your workout, you’ll finish each workout with a sense of excitement for the next workout and you’ll never have to worry about a lack of intensity. I find functional fitness is the best for this approach, although, towards the end of last year and all through January, I went back to good old fashioned bro splits and put on a good few kilos of lean muscle before I decided it was time to start running again.

Whereas I want to get aesthetic and use it to either become an online PT or just an influencer. I haven't had a single day where I didn't want to go workout for close to a year now. I don't go to the gym, but maybe i'll make myself someday. The motivation is not a huge problem. What gets me is that lack of knowledge of what to do, how much, when etc. As a man i don't want to be seen in an environment full of guys and gals as a newbie while others aren't (this works the other way around for women). I know i can ask some trainer on the gym and he'll probably be really helpful, but i hate being needy or bothersome to other people. Until i figure it out myself, i'll be staying away from the gym.
