BJP didn't fielded its candidates because it may become Referendum on Removal of Article 370 in Kashmir that may become handy for pakistan or Countries that are against India on this issue But the turnout this time around is about 40% which is highest in 3 decades in 2019 it was just 15% so in a way democracy has won in Kashmir

Interesting - the reported in Srinagar is contradicting herself in a single statement. That is some kind of an achievement. "In the past the Kashmiris have not turned out to vote because of fear of separatist movement, this time around they are turning out to vote in numbers to protest against the BJP's move in 2019"- which ironically is why they are able to turn out to vote. Some reasons I can think of for doing so are, lack of quality journalists, channel being run or sponsored by people belittling India, or for getting more views on KZfaq by making something on India while also angering Indians.
