Me giving a sloppy rundown on my '72 Corvette. This was a 5 year body-off, rotisserie, "restoration" that started with a car pulled from a junkyard with very few useable parts. This car was an anemic stock automatic small block that hadn't run in 7 years.
Sorry for the uhhs and ums. I tried to correct everything with captions, but I'm definitely not the best public speaker.

Thanks for the walk around. You've done a ton of wonderful changes to your car making it truly your own. I think the flairs and wheels are perfect. Everything you've done is just right! Well done brother.

I have an automatic '80 Corvette with a 5.7 liter 350 and TH350 tranny and....WOW! This car is the EXACT dream of my C3. I bet it would take TONS of work to get mine to that realm JUST mechanically! As a 19 yr. old I have a lot to learn, and a lot of work ahead of me. I appreciate your time taken to explain/show your car to other enthusiasts!

You did an absolutely wonderful, tasteful job on this car, keeping it true to its classic roots while updating it for modern demands. This is VERY close to how I'll be doing my '73, so I guess great minds think alike. Question: Do you think the 6 piston Wilwoods are necessary for autocross in this car (being sub-3,500lbs)? I've heard that with the right pads, lines, etc. the factory 4 piston brakes are exceptional performers. Also, any opinion on the VB&P suspension kits? Thank you!

I assume you meant Firebird motors , not Camaro for the headlights. I have a 1970 'Vette which is a bit of a resto mod. I was wondering if you could give insight on how you made the headlights work with those motors. Step by step , if you can. I have replaced all the stuff in the stock system and the lights still operate painfully slow. Anyway , great car man.

Very sick, has several similarities to how I envision my finished 73'. Also you're too hard on yourself, but it made the video amusing. How did you mount the seat belts? Did you add gussets to the sheet metal or something similar? Do you know what the backspacing on your wheels is?

I would take it over any Ferrari or Lamborghini or any other car. it just oozes with sex appeal, not to mention the ultimate drivetrain, suspension, brakes and state of the art electronics. @SuprJames

Spal aftermarket kit. I'm pretty sure it works much better than a stock system. I had to do a lot of modifications on the back of a brand new set of door panels to make it work, but definitely came out nice. Whether you use the Spal kit or original switches, make sure you use relays. Otherwise you will be going through switches left and right.

Really nice C3. One of the nicest!! Did you put the wheels on the car and then flare the fenders to match?
@SuprJames
@SuprJames 9 жыл бұрын
Yes. Everyone else was putting the fenders on the car and hoping the wheels would match. Didn't make any sense to me, so I got the chassis completed and then built the flares to match. Hardest part was slicking up the firewall because it required us to drop the body, get everything mounted on the firewall that we had to have, and then pull the body back off for filling the holes and paint.

All that work, all that attention to detail, the immaculate engine bay, the gorgeous paint, the heartstopping engine, the car is glorious....and you jam shitty auto parts store Auto Meter gauges in that lady? A complete set from Classic Instruments would have been a more fitting choice for a build of this quality. I'd put Auto Meter in a rat rod, but a work of art like this Vette deserves something better.
