The Chevy Colorado has come a long way in 2021. In this video, I'll be going over all of the mods that were added to the Z71 in 2021 and discussing what I'm looking to do with the Colorado in 2022.

In 2021 my Z71 Chevy Colorado went from plain and boring to being one of the nicest trucks on the road in my area. We modified almost everything about the truck. From headlights to taillights and engine to interior, almost all of the truck has been modified or customized in some way.

I installed a k&n Blackhawk air intake system on my ‘16 Colorado it’s great sounds nice but it does have a high pitch tone that does pierce the ears on high revs especially when the truck shifts down when accelerating uphill. I also installed a magnaflow exhaust as well both packages sound great and was a very easy install.

My truck is nearly identical to yours. 2018 Midnight. Save your money on the exhaust and the CAI. A bedrug with the led lights in the bed of the truck will make you happier. Wheel locks are a great inexpensive thing to add also. Oh....a lock for the tailgate too!

Love the vids helped me make up my mind on the tail gate light bar. I’ve got the Borla exhaust. Nice rumble not red necky. I also live in coastal Georgia, no testing. I could empty the cat if I wanted, but I’m not. I got the cold air intake. Nice sound you can hear it when you accelerate. But, I need a tune the engine light wouldn’t go off. Took it off I’ll put it back on when warranty is gone. I have a white 2019 RST w black trim came w 20” black wheels. I got rid of the goofy 4 x 4 decal and put a solid black one on. Like the air dam trim. Took mine off, I’ll trim it one day and put it back on. Only difference I’ve noticed is over 70 mph fuel economy goes down. All it does is push air to the side verses underneath.

Is it too much when you’re cruising down the high way? Or does it just sound more aggressive when you’re accelerating?

I’m currently running the GM performance exhaust, since I bought it from the dealership. I also have the Injen air intake and a ported throttle body. I actually found you through your trifecta tune video. Definitely want it.

I did a Flowmaster 40 series on mine and it's pretty good as far as sound for sure. And I'd probably wrap the truck instead of painting it. Might save yourself some money

Personally love the Spyder light, I wouldn't put the stock ones back on there unless I had too. I don't have a cold air intake on my Colorado yet, but I have an AFE stage 2 intake on my 06 Chrysler 300C and it sounds phenomenal, I've done some searching on KZfaq here and the AFE seems to produce the best sound for our V6 Colorado's as well, so that's in the cards for me personally.

I got the cat back exhaust from the factory, dealer installed. It shouldn't affect inspection since it's a factory option. I heard there's a 10hp gain, but who knows.

You should look into the MBRP exhaust system. I plan on getting this exhaust for my Colorado. I did a lot of research because I don't want that ricey sound like you said. This was the best one I could find and it's actually at a decent price for exhaust. S5090AL is the chrome tip and S5090BLK is the black tip.

I got that mbrp cat back system for my colorado and I’ve compared it to straight piping it and the mbrp cat back system is much better, it has a kind of growl without any kind raspy tone that the straight pipe had, it was definitely louder than stock but not to loud, very nice system overall

Howdy. Just bought a 2017 Canyon, and I'm wondering if anybody makes a quieter exhaust for it. The stock exhaust is kind of loud and cheesy sounding IMO. Mine is a daily driver and I would like it to be dead quiet on the highway. I do like a loud exhaust on my hotrod 54 F100 with its 406 SBC with its big cam and Cherry Bombs because that's what it's for, but I don't want to hear all that when I'm just traveling on the highway. I'd rather just hear the stereo. Any suggestions?

Have a 2021 ZR2 bison, I try very hard to be able stay within the warranty so I add only GM options. Like the fog lights you have and will probably do that next. Funny I’m already thinking of painting it before I saw this video and have only had the truck 1 year with 6300 miles. Its my baby and have never cared this much about a vehicle. Love the Colorados.

Got the cold air inductions on my 21 midnight edition. Very easy install and it sounds more like a truck no regrets.

@@JasonSmith883 also the cold air inductions is the exact same one GM supplies at the dealership. Plus bonus you don't have to remove engine cover and it's not ridiculously loud just gives it a mild roar. GL your trucks looking good.

Add a throttle controller and a Trifecta Tune, I did on my 2018, it's very quick

Small issue is the paint on the bulbs went from a black color to a gold/copper looking color. No burning or anything like that and lights still work fine

I have a 2018 Colorado Z71, & I plan to wrap the truck. Have you considered wrapping instead of painting?

I have thought about it. I might end up going that route instead of the paint. Be easier to fix if a piece of the wrap gets damaged

Hey man when you did the led headlights did you get the led to fit in the stock dust covers?

Hi Jordan, yes I did. Basically just tucked the wiring into the headlight housing.

Have you had any transmission issues? I just found your channel (and you definitely earned a sub) but a lot of articles I’ve read on the 15-16s said they were prone to transmission failures.

Thanks Nicholas for the sub. No issues with my transmission. I have heard of this problem and it stemmed from GM not using the right fluid in the transmissions. I heard that once guys had their transmission fluid changed it fixed the issue for them.
